✝️ Join Us This Sunday at 10:30 AM!
This Fifth Sunday of May will be a day of joyful celebration at John Calvin Presbyterian Church.
We’ll observe Trinity Sunday, lifting our voices in hymns of praise and adoration—each one chosen by members of our congregation to reflect deep personal meaning and faith.

🌟 During worship, we’ll also bless and commission our 2026 Vacation Bible School leaders and helpers as they prepare for this year’s program, Under Construction: Building Our Faith.
VBS will be held Sunday–Wednesday evenings, 5:15–7:45 PM, with supper, activities, and fellowship for all ages.

🕊️ Midweek Bible Study
Beginning Wednesday, June 3rd at 11:30 AM (on Zoom or in the Pastor’s Study), we’ll start a new study on the Book of Acts—a powerful look at the early days of the church.
If you plan to join, try reading the entire book beforehand so we can dive right into the highlights together this summer.

We look forward to worshipping, learning, and celebrating together.

🔥 Join Us This Sunday at 10:30 AM for Pentecost!

This Sunday we celebrate the Day of Pentecost — the gifts of the Holy Spirit, the birthday of the Church, and the flame of faith that unites us as one family in Christ.
You are invited to wear RED as a symbol of the Spirit’s power and presence.

🚧 Last Day to Register for Vacation Bible School!
Sunday is the final day to sign up for this year’s VBS:
“Under Construction: Building Our Faith”
Join us for four evenings of great food, wonderful fellowship, and fun activities for ages 1–100.
If you’re coming — or bringing friends — please let us know so we can prepare enough food and materials for everyone!

The church office will be closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

📚 Bible Study Update
Our study of What Do We Do With the Bible? concludes Wednesday, May 27.
A new study on the Book of Acts begins June 3 at 11:30 AM, offered both in person and on Zoom.

Prime Timers will meet for lunch on Thursday, May 28 at 11:45 AM in the Fellowship Hall.
All are welcome — bring a dish and bring a friend!

🔥 Pentecost Sunday at John Calvin Presbyterian! 🔥
This Sunday we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit — the breath of God that unites, empowers, and sends us out in love.
Join us at 10:30 AM for worship as we rejoice in the Spirit’s movement among us and remember that we are one body with many gifts.

Wear red to symbolize the flame of faith, and come ready to be renewed in heart and hope.
Let’s fill the sanctuary with joy, color, and praise!

What a beautiful morning of worship led by our incredible youth! Their energy, faith, and creativity filled the sanctuary and reminded us that God is at work in every generation.

We’re so grateful for each young person who shared their gifts — and for the families and congregation who encouraged them along the way.

🌟 Join Us for Youth Sunday!
This Sunday at 10:30 AM at John Calvin Presbyterian Church

We’ll celebrate God’s work through our children and youth with the theme “Building Blocks of Faith.”
Our young people will lead worship, offer special music, and share their experiences and activities from the past year. It’s sure to be a moving and inspiring time of worship!

💜 Mission Focus:
The Mission Committee is collecting Blessing Bags to be distributed at the Parking Lot Mission on Saturday, May 30.
A list of suggested items is available on the Missions table in the narthex, and completed bags may be placed in the collection bin nearby.

🎉 Vacation Bible School Registration Is Open!
Forms for members and guests are available on the welcome table.
Please register by Sunday, May 24 so we can prepare food and materials for everyone.

🌸 Honoring All Who Mother
Join us this Sunday at 10:30 AM for worship at John Calvin Presbyterian Church.

On this Mother’s Day weekend, we will be observing Mothering Sunday, honoring the church, our earthly mothers, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and the gifts of Mother Earth.
As part of this service, we will receive the Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina’s annual Mother’s Day Offering. This offering helps provide care for residents who have outlived their life’s savings and need support to continue meeting their monthly obligations. In gratitude for the faith and love nurtured in our hearts by mothers and all who care for us, please give generously.

🤝 Mission in Action
The Mission Committee is collecting Blessing Bags, ponchos, and umbrellas throughout the month of May. These items will be distributed at the Parking Lot Mission on Saturday, May 30th.
Donations may be placed on the Missions table in the narthex.
