This needed to be shared.
The Bible teaches that every one of us has sinned and have gone against God’s ways and fallen short of His holiness (Romans 3:23). Because of that sin, we are spiritually separated from God and deserve the penalty of death (Romans 6:23). But the good news is that God did not leave us in that condition.
1️⃣ Recognize Your Need for Salvation
We must understand and admit that we cannot save ourselves.
Romans 3:23 NIV says
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
2️⃣ Believe in Jesus Christ
Jesus, the Son of God, lived a sinless life and willingly died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He rose again on the third day, defeating death so we can have eternal life.
John 3:16 NIV says
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
3️⃣ Repent Turning to God
Repentance means turning away from sin and turning your heart toward God choosing a new direction with Jesus as Lord.
Acts 3:19 NIV says
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.”
4️⃣ Confess Jesus as Lord
We openly declare our belief and commit our lives to Him.
Romans 10:9 NIV says
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
5️⃣ Receive God’s Grace
Salvation is not earned by good works. It is a gift from God that we simply receive by faith.
Ephesians 2:8 NIV says
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. It is the gift of God.”
A Simple Prayer
This prayer is an example of how to express your faith to God
“Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe You died and rose again so I could be saved. Today I turn from my sin and ask You to be my Savior and Lord. Thank You for loving me, forgiving me, and giving me eternal life. I choose to follow You. Amen.”
What Happens Next
When you are saved your sins are forgiven. You become a child of God. You receive the Holy Spirit. You begin a new life in Christ.
Romans 10:13 NIV says
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
