25 years seems so far away, yet like yesterday.
The events of 911, for those of us that remember that day, will forever be etched in our memories. It was a tragic turning point in our nations history.
While we choose to forgive, we will not forget.
We will remember!
We will remember those who lost their lives.
We will remember their families who lost a piece of their hearts that day!
We will remember all the brave men and women who put themselves in harms way to save lives, as well as those who protected us from greater tragedy, those who guided our nation, and those who restored order after the chaos.
But there are other things we will also remember!
We will remember the pain, yet remain in peace because God promises it, and gives it!
We will remember to pray for our nation, because our nation needs it!
We will remember to love others passionately, because we do not know when they will no longer be with us!
We will remember to trust God in the midst of chaos and fear! Psalms 56:3 "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you!" I love that this verse does not deny the fact that fear is something we will deal with from time to time!
We can put our trust in many things... ourself, our leadership, our armed forces, our guns, our wealth, our family, our resources....all those things will fail us at some point.
But there is one who will NEVER fail... I choose to put my trust in my unfailing God!
That trust, brings great peace!
Tragedy may come, fear may come, pain may come... but peace prevails! It's a peace that is beyond human understanding... it's supernatural! And it guards hearts and minds! Philippians 4:7
We pray for those who lost a loved one, and all those affected so deeply by the events of this day. We pray, also, for our nation! For peace, protection, wisdom, favor and strength!
God bless, keep and protect the USA!
