We hope you will join us tomorrow morning at 10:30am for worship and God’s word as we journey onward through the GOSPEL of JOHN.

This Sunday I begin a new message series in the Gospel of John. I am so excited about this study for several reasons. First, John is the Gospel that focuses most on who Jesus is! There are so many wonderful ways God is manifested through Jesus as recorded in John’s Gospel. The more you study John, the closer you feel to the Him and to the Father. Second, I am writing our children’s curriculum for Kids Church, and they will be studying the Gospel of John along with us. You do not have to give kids “syrupy sweet” Bible lessons. I have found that children can understand the deep truths of the Bible. Also, we have launched our services into the gym at MCA, and the Gospel of John is the perfect book for new beginnings.

We hope you will join us Sunday at 10:30am for worship, the Lord’s Supper and God’s word as we trace church history in search for truth.

How do we know we believe the truth? The main question of the Reformation was “What is true Christianity?” Theological battles were fought for the truth. But what about all the hundreds of denominations and branches? How has Jesus’ providential oversight made certain that His church would prevail? What does the state of the church this say about us and to us?

We hope you will join us Sunday at 10:30am for worship as take a quick two-week journey through church history to see how God’s word shaped where we are today.

We’re told in Hebrews 12 that we are surrounded by a great crowd of witnesses. Who are those great cloud of witnesses? What is their story? How did they influence the church to get to where it is today? And more importantly, what difference does it make to us in our daily lives?

We hope you will join us tomorrow morning at 10:30am for worship and God’s word as we celebrate the liberty God has provided for us.

HAPPY 250TH BIRTHDAY, AMERICA! The opening few lines of the Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Abraham Lincoln famously declared, “our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” The Pledge of Allegiance concludes, “with Liberty and justice for all.” Our nation was founded on the concept of liberty, but what exactly does this liberty entail?

God has promised liberty to those who are His people. The liberty we have in Christ is both unalienable and eternal. How can we live fully into the liberty that has been provided by God?

We hope you will join us at 10:30am tomorrow morning. We are having a family conference (meeting) tomorrow so things will be different. We will worship in the gym and enjoy a pizza lunch afterwards (baked chicken, salad also provided for those with food allergies).

I am so excited to share a huge announcement with you tomorrow morning. There are times when God provides the opportunity for new beginnings and this is one of them as we take the next step onward on our journey.

We hope you will join us tomorrow for worship, The Lord’s Supper, and God’s word as we consider abounding grace.

The past two weeks we have considered Justification and Sanctification. Justification requires grace to deal with the penalty of sin! Sanctification requires grace to deal with the problem of sin!

Don’t we all need grace? Why is it we want grace for ourselves and justice for our enemies? Why is it we think grace has finished its work once we have trusted in Jesus? What if grace was something that carried and sustained us for victorious living? How do we appropriate grace for our life in Christ?

What can we learn from God’s reconciling love? How can reconciling love be demonstrated in our lives?

TWO IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS CONCERNING IMPENDING WEATHER:

1. YES—WORSHIP: We will have WORSHIP at ONWARD this Sunday at 10:30am.

2. NO—CHURCH LUNCHEON: We are going to postpone our Church Luncheon until next Sunday, February 1st.

Sunday’s message is about the Power of Perseverance. Paul describes this in Romans 5:1-5. There is much encouragement in this text. We hope you will join us for worship, Sunday at 10:30am.
