Labor
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30, NKJV
We labor for many things for a multitude of reasons often leaving our lives littered and cluttered with anxiety and fear. Far too often we feel beat down and burdened by these endeavors almost to the point of exhaustion… worrying about the impact of today’s problems on tomorrow’s future. Unfortunately, we more often than not succumb to these fears/pressure instead of placing them before our Lord - Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30, NKJV). However, if we simply shift our mindset and focus our efforts on the Kingdom, will our hearts, minds, bodies, and souls not be collectively relieved of such heaviness - “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (Matthew 6:31-34, NKJV). This change in mindset allows us to focus on the Father and the work He has placed before us, vice our own personal needs. It truly is about faith and trust in Him to provide the very tools required to sustain; however, God’s glory is manifested in such belief, that He provides seed to the sower and a bountiful harvest to all who labor for Him - And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God” (2 Corinthians 9:8-11, NKJV).
BE BLESSED
