Yesterday after the storms had passed. a magnificent rainbow appeared in the sky above our town. It was brought to my attention by the number of people who were in the parking lot looking up and admiring its beauty. Kids were pointing, parents were taking pictures, but it was oddly quiet as no one was talking.
It reminded me of what heaven might be like. What can we possibly do except admire? What can we possibly say except to be thankful for all eternity?
As I drove home through the neighborhood, people were out of their homes and yards gazing at the intense colors and entirety of the rainbow. Men, women and children alike were drawn to pause in awe at the majesty and beauty.
Today, many around the world are outside again to witness a total eclipse. Yet both will only last a few minutes and is gone.
But beyond the rainbow and eclipse is someone greater. These are only the creations of the creator in which we have the hope to be in His presence forever.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork. - Ps 19.1
