Ever tried to carry all the grocery bags into the house in one single trip?

You hook every single loop onto both arms, waddle up to the front door, and suddenly realize… you can't reach your keys. You stand there, completely stuck, because full hands cannot open anything.

It turns out we are physically wired for this struggle. Put your finger in a newborn's palm, and they will immediately close their tiny fist around it: a biological instinct doctors call the palmar grasp reflex. But as we grow up, that cute reflex matures into a white-knuckled grip on our adult lives. We clutch our money, our schedules, our reputations, and our plans out of a constant fear that if we let go, it will all slip away.
But what if the freest life runs completely backwards from how we’ve been taught?

In this week's message (8/23/26), we look at the Apostle Paul under Roman house arrest. By all accounts, he had every reason to hoard and clutch whatever security he had left. Yet, he wrote a thank-you letter that makes him sound like the freest man in the room. (Philippians 4:14-23)

What did he know that we keep forgetting?
