Yá’át’ééh,

As we continue the journey of discerning our next Bishop, we invite you to join a Listening Circle in your area.

We have gathered in this way before, and we do so again to listen more deeply—centering the voices of our congregations: elders, youth, and lay leaders.

Every voice matters in this sacred work.

Today we begin Lent.

In his Ash Wednesday message, our Bishop invites us to walk in harmony — seeking forgiveness, wholeness, and restoration through prayer, repentance, and renewal.

Lent turns us inward so we may turn outward in compassion and service. Even now, Easter joy is quietly preparing our hearts.

“In the Beauty Way all is restored again.”

Yá’át’ééh,
General Convention 2027 — Navajoland Learning Series

The monthly Zoom learning series ECN is hosting has a change for the February date and will now begin on Thursday, February 19.

The Episcopal Church in Navajoland (ECN) is hosting a monthly Zoom series to explore the Episcopal Church and the 2027 General Convention in Phoenix.

This learning grows from our community and is shared to bring more community together — with conversation, questions, and guidance from seasoned guests who have walked this work before.

📅 First gathering: Thursday, February 19, 2026
🕕 6–7 PM MST
📍 Zoom

Our original February date has shifted to allow time for deputy books to arrive and be distributed. Beginning in March, the series will return to its regular schedule on the first Wednesday of each month.

This series is part of General Convention deputy formation, and it is also open to anyone who would like to learn — clergy, lay leaders, and curious Episcopalians.

Optional Books:
• The Episcopal Handbook
• Walk with Love

A powerful Op-Ed signed by 154 bishops of The Episcopal Church speaks clearly about dignity, justice, and what our faith asks of us in this moment.

“We, the undersigned bishops of The Episcopal Church, write today out of grief, righteous anger, and steadfast hope.

What happened a week ago in Minnesota, and is happening in communities across the country, runs counter to God’s vision of justice and peace.

The question before us is simple and urgent: Whose dignity matters?

Our faith gives a clear answer: Everyone’s.”

We invite you to take a few minutes to read and reflect.

Episcopal bishops condemn Renee Good, Alex Pretti deaths, calling for ICE suspension and investigations into state-sanctioned violence affecting communities nationwide.

Join the Hozho Center via Zoom for another Winter Story Sharing with Rev. Cornelia Eaton and Mr. Leonard Anthony as they explore the teaching of Four Sacred Words. This teaching will offer guidance as we are deep in winter, a time of reflection, listening, and grounding.

Join us this winter as we gather each month to listen, learn, and reconnect through sacred stories and teachings shared during the cold season. These gatherings will be held via Zoom, and everyone is welcome. The same Zoom link will be used for all sessions throughout the winter.

First Winter Story Sharing Session
🗓 Saturday, January 24th
⏰ 10:00 AM (MST)

We are honored to welcome Leonard Anthony, Diné culture and language educator from Shiprock, New Mexico, who will be our presenter for the entire Winter Story Sharing Series.

This season, Leonard will guide us through the teaching of The Four Sacred Words:

• Adéé'haniih – Remembering yourself when you feel backed into a corner; knowing when to seek help
• Ada'hodilzin – Recognizing your self-worth and value
• Adaa Ahaya – Taking care of yourself
• Adaa'hąąh hasin – Realizing self-assurance

These teachings offer guidance for living in a good way and are especially meaningful during the winter months, a time for reflection, listening, and grounding.

Zoom ID and passcode are on the image.
(Please use this same link for all winter sessions.)

Let us gather together in a good way to honor the stories and teachings that carry us through the winter season.

We share an important update in the bishop election process for the Missionary Diocese of Navajoland.

The Rev. Alyssa Stebbing has prayerfully withdrawn from the slate of nominees. We give thanks for her time among the people of Navajoland and for the spirit of care and integrity she brought to this sacred process.

The election will continue with the Rev. Cornelia Eaton and the Rev. Leon Sampson. We ask the church to hold all involved in prayer.
