We have already been made confident of our salvation over internal conflicts. Now Paul allays any possible fear we might have from external forces. This confidence is based on our unshakable confidence in the love of God.

After Israel finished agreeing to the blessings and curses in the covenant, Moses reminds them of their history showing a great record of God's faithfulness, and that faithfulness as the basis for entering a covenant with Him.
