When Jesus proclaimed, “It is finished,” he did something that no human before or after could accomplish. He swung open the door for all of humanity to be brought into a right relationship with God the Father. What does this really mean? Listen in as Pastor Chris unpacks the power of victory provided to us through Jesus’ finished work on the cross. Restoration Ministries of Greater Cleveland, Rev. Dr. Christine A. Smith, Senior Pastor. www.rmgrcle.org https://youtu.be/eW6B8AB55CY

In today’s message from Luke 8:1-3, Pastor Chris preached that Jesus was INTENTIONAL about making his inner circle of disciples diverse. Jesus was intentional about exemplifying inclusivity and equity in his group. God did not limit salvation to a special class of people that excluded everyone else. God said, “whosoever will, let them come.” God knows that we all have issues, all have differences, all have various situations and circumstances, so God called preachers, and teachers, and pastors, and missionaries, and evangelists, and everyday people that he sends out into the world to reach as many people as possible, right where they are – some on the streets, some in prison, some in hospitals, some in distant lands, some in cities, some in rural places, some in trailer parks, and some in high rises, some on land, and some on the sea… Through Jesus Christ, God produced the BEST DEI policy. "It costs to take a stand." When given a choice where do you land? It is easy to stand for "right" when it is popular and well supported. Can you stand when there is a price to pay? In today's message, Pastor Chris challenges God's people to firmly choose God and actively oppose injustice, oppression and allegiance to idols. Restoration Ministries of Greater Cleveland, Rev. During seasons of disappointment, frustration, and bewilderment, it can be difficult to hold onto our faith. In today’s message, "Faith is Calling," Pastor Chris, draws parallels between the prophet Habakkuk's complaints about injustice and current societal and political issues. She emphasized the importance of maintaining faith, trusting in God's ultimate justice, and the boomerang effect of both righteous and wicked actions. On Mother’s Day, preachers and guest speakers frequently offer messages from very familiar passages of scripture: Proverbs 31, “Who can find a virtuous woman…?” Some will reference the world’s first mother, Eve. Some will talk about Hannah, the mother of the great prophet Samuel, Elizabeth, the New Testament mother of John the Baptist, Mary, the mother of Jesus, and some might even share a message about Lois and Eunice, the mother and grandmother of Paul’s young protégé, Timothy. Rarely, however, will we hear a Mother’s Day message about Saul’s concubine, Rizpah – a low level “quasi wife” with no authority, no legal standing, and in the eyes of many, no worth. Yet Rizpah understood the shame, the disgrace, and the curse of allowing her murdered sons’ bodies to be left for food for vultures. Although thought of as “less than,” and viewed by society as a social “throw away,” Rizpah proved to be one of the most honorable and subsequently revered woman and mother in the Bible. She was a “Vulture Chaser!” To hear more about this intriguing, bodacious, and resilient mother, listen to Pastor Chris’ message, “Vulture Chasers.” Restoration Ministries of Greater Cleveland, Rev. “No, it’s not I, but the Christ that lives in me!” What does that mean? In today’s message, “The Christ that Lives in Me,” from Galatians 2:20, Pastor Chris emphasized that external biblical laws have minimal power to transform our lives and no power to save our souls. True change and soul salvation is made available to all only through Jesus Christ. The lives we live as transformed beings are made possible through the love of Christ and God’s Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Restoration Ministries of Greater Cleveland, Rev. Dr. Christine A. Thirst is a human reaction to a need to be restored. Physical thirst requires water or some type of liquid to replenish fluids we’ve lost. We also experience other kinds of thirst – heart thirst, soul thirst, a desire to fill that seemingly unquenchable void. In today’s message ("Get a Drink!"), Pastor Chris reminds us that we, like the woman at the well need more than physical water. We need living water, that is Jesus Christ. He alone can fill the depth of voids we experience in a fallen world. Restoration Ministries of Greater Cleveland, Rev. Dr. Christine A. Have you ever played dominos? Do you remember how the fall of one domino affects the others? Today, Pastor Chris preached, "Be careful to whom you listen: The domino effect of disobedience," which explored the biblical account of King Solomon, his son Rehoboam, and Jeroboam from 1 Kings chapters 11-14.
The sermon highlighted how disobedience to God leads to far-reaching consequences, affecting not only individuals but also their families and future generations. It emphasized the importance of choosing to obey God's word, resisting temptation, and the restorative power of Jesus Christ through repentance and faith.
