We are faithful followers—believing by faith in Jesus Christ, belonging to sacred community, and becoming the unfolding of God’s wildest dream. South Euclid United Church of Christ, an urban church since its beginning in 1843, is a diverse, multiracial and multicultural, Open and Affirming congregation. Members come from the entire metropolitan area. Building upon the witness of our heritage and outreach, we are newly committed to being a church in mission as a nurturing and worshipping community, in service, by evangelism, and through God's transforming love and justice. In the spirit of God's Good News, we believe the best years are yet to be!

Sermon: UNDERNEATH IT ALL
Scripture: Mark 4:26–29 NLT

So much of The Long Walk has been about movement: when to go, when to dig again, who to walk with, when to pivot, and even when to stop.

But what if something has been happening all along that you couldn’t see?

In Mark 4, Jesus tells the story of a farmer who scatters seed and then goes on living. He sleeps. He wakes. Night becomes day. And somewhere beneath the surface, beyond his sight and outside his control, the seed begins to grow.

Some of the most important growth in our lives happens before there is visible evidence that anything is changing.

This Sunday, join Courtney Clayton Jenkins as she helps us explore the sacred mystery of what may be growing underneath the surface, trust the work we cannot yet see, and learn how to recognize the moments when hidden growth finally begins to break through.

Maybe the ground isn’t empty.

Maybe nothing has been wasted.

Maybe underneath it all, something has been growing.

SCRIPTURE
Luke 19:1–10 NIV

What if the place you chose simply to get a better view became the place where your life changed?

Zacchaeus climbed a tree hoping to see Jesus. But when Jesus reached the spot, Zacchaeus discovered that he had already been seen. What began as curiosity became a life-changing encounter that transformed how he understood himself, his resources, and his responsibility to others.

Join Courtney Clayton Jenkins as she helps us recognize the sacred possibilities in the place where we are standing and discover how being seen by God can transform the way we live, love, and move forward.

Make plans to worship with us in the sanctuary this Sunday at 10:55 AM. There is something powerful about being together in the room. If you are unable to join us in person, worship with us online.

Nothing Compares to a Long Walk with God.
