🎣 "More Than Fishing:
A St. John Youth Teachable Moment"

The Cliché:

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

These photos are (courtesy of Missionary Carolyn Wallace with grandson Carson), beautifully illustrates the wisdom behind the saying.

Meaning:

Providing someone with a fish meets an immediate need, but teaching them how to fish gives them the knowledge and skills to provide for themselves in the future.

The moment wasn't just about catching fish — it was about learning patience, responsibility, and a life skill. A fish may feed him for a day, but teaching him how to fish can benefit him for a lifetime.

Biblical Principle:

While this exact quote is not found in the Bible, it aligns with biblical teachings about diligence, stewardship, and equipping others.
