Caring for our community means being ready to help in times of need. On August 27th, a group of our parishioners took a crucial step in supporting our neighbors by completing a Hands-Only CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed training. We are incredibly grateful to our instructors, Eleni Fredlund and Kathy Hallas, for partnering with us to provide this life-saving education. Participants completed a CPR refresher and earned a Stop the Bleed certificate from the American College of Surgeons, empowering our church family to act quickly and keep individuals safe until EMS arrives. This training is just one more way we strive to serve, protect, and provide a safe space for everyone..

On August 21st, we had the joy of visiting with the Town Acres community on Carolina Ave. We shared fresh produce from our Community Garden, packed lunches, school supplies generously donated by United Women in Faith, and books from the Appalachian District Traveling Library. We are so incredibly thankful for the opportunity to connect with and serve our neighbors. As a church, we look forward to continuing to meet people exactly where they are, walking alongside them in every season of life.

On August 9th, we prayed over our students, teachers, and staff as they headed into a new school year. Our chapter of United Women in Faith (UWIF) held a fundraiser to support their missions. As a faith-based group focused on improving the lives of women, children, and youth, we are incredibly thankful for the many ways UWIF leads Centenary in our outreach efforts. While we were together, we also celebrated the birthday of one of our parishioners, Christine White. We hope you had a wonderful birthday, Christine!
