What a beautiful day at Sojourn and with our church family! As I arrived today I heard and saw the body working and serving one another. A group of prayer warriors gathered upstairs to pray, musicians practicing, sound people in the booth testing all the things, many hands hauling chairs and tables to set up for lunch. Then, we gathered in the sanctuary to center our lives and worship corporately around our sinless-sin bearing-substitute-suffering-sacrificial-Shepherd. The worship through song was thunderous, worship through baptism was life giving, worship through the word was illuminating, and worship through the Lord’s table a grateful memorial. We then gathered around tables to share a meal, where worship in my opinion, continued as we had a foretaste of the goodness we will share for eternity as God’s family. Our cups should be very full! May we never take for granted the gift we have been given to gather!
