Thank you to the thirty-one people who stayed after church recently to spruce up the church grounds and clear gutters in preparation for the winter. Lot of leaves were raked and weedy growth from the back of the parking lot and fence was removed. A lunch of chili, cornbread, brownies and ice cream rewarded the laborers.

A glorious day today as the annual Blessing of the Animals service coincided with our monthly Youth Oriented service. The pets were all well behaved and the kids did an awesome job of reading the lessons, leading the psalm and the Prayers of the People, handling the ushering duties along with their regular acolyte responsibilities and giving the Dismissal.

The sun was out and contributed to another highly successful annual Eunice Barton Memorial Ice Cream Social. Along with ice cream provided by Eunice's family and its ice cream truck from The Scoop in Whitney Point, there was face painting, raffle basket winners, balloon sculptures and Corn Hole games for the kids with awesome prizes. And all free to the community, thanks to the generous donations from the parishioners of St. Paul's and The Scoop. Thank you also to our two parish nurses, Jackie F. and Jackie R., for offering blood pressure screenings at the nurse's station.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! No need to scream, just come to St. Paul’s on Wednesday, August 5 from 6:00-8:00 PM for your fill of ice cream. The annual Eunice Barton Ice Cream Social will take place on the Broad St. side yard of the church. That block will be blocked off so no traffic! In addition to ice cream there will be children’s games plus chances to win free raffle baskets. New this year will be a balloon sculptor! Since there is no charge for any of it, there is no excuse not to attend it! All are welcome!
