Matthew 6:25-34 reminds us that we should not worry, Verse 34 says:
So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today

Worry is something that can consume us each day, but if we can continue to trust in God and turn to Him, then our worries can seem smaller. Trusting in God begins with turning to Scripture each day. It is in scripture where we can find peace and love of our Heavenly Father.

How do you find time in Scripture to refocus your mind from the worries of this world to the God who loves us?

Galatians 5:22-26
By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also be guided by the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, competing against one another, envying one another.

The Psalms are a good way to be reminded of God's presence and faithfulness with the journey of our lives.
Psalm 62:2 - He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken.
Our lives (and the world) can bring busy-ness, chaos, uncertainty, and so much more. Life can feel like a roller coaster, but Psalm 62 reminds us of God's steady presence: a rock and a fortress. In the midst of all that life seems to give us, Trust in God will get is through.
What verse(s) stands out to you today, as you read Psalm 62?

A great thing about the Lectionary is that we get to revisit scripture that moves along a similar timeline as the life of Jesus. Since Easter, we have read from the Gospels of Matthew, John, and Luke. Each reading has given insight into how the disciples were dealing not only with the crucifixion of Jesus, but also their different experiences with the resurrected Jesus. Hope becomes renewed and overcomes the fear and grief of the previous days. Hope and renewal - meals and journeying. All are a part of the story of Easter.

On this day we follow Jesus into Jerusalem, waving branches and shouting “Hosanna,” even as the shadow of the cross draws near. In his humility and suffering, we see the depth of God’s tender love for the world: a love that does not turn away, even from death. We ask for grace to walk this same way, trusting that through the cross, God is already leading us toward resurrection.

In today's gospel reading, John 10:31-42, we find Jesus escaping an arrest after debate as to who he is. Jesus escapes and returns to the place where John baptized Him. Perhaps this was a place of strength, a reminder of his connection to God and God's presence with Him. Our readings in Jeremiah and Psalms are also reminders of God's faithfulness to be with us during times of struggle when it seems we are fighting an uphill battle.
