This poem is a small tribute to the enduring spirit of our country, the sacrifices that secured our liberty, and the gratitude we should never lose for the privilege of calling America home.

We hear so much about what's wrong with America that sometimes we forget what has always made her extraordinary.

This nation has never been perfect—but it has always offered something rare: the freedom to dream, to work, to worship, to speak, and to build a better life for our children.

Millions crossed oceans with little more than hope because America gave ordinary people an extraordinary opportunity. Every generation has paid a price to preserve those blessings, and every generation inherits the responsibility to protect them.
