Bishop Alfred Schlert is encouraging all within the Diocese of Allentown to join Pope Leo XIV and Catholics worldwide in praying a Holy Rosary today, Saturday, May 30 for peace in regions around the world experiencing a surge in armed conflict.

The Pope is set to pray the Rosary this Saturday from the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens at 1p.m. ET. At the same time, Monsignor Walter Rossi, Rector of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C., will be leading the Rosary in the Great Upper Church of the Basilica. The Basilica invites all the faithful to attend either in person or via livestream to join in this moment of prayer.

Bishop Schlert extends the invitation to all the faithful of the Diocese to join in this sacred moment of prayer in unity with Pope Leo and all Catholics around the world.

St. Ann School commissioned a song through the program "Sing Me a Story," which is a group that partners ensembles, composers, and children in need to create new music.

As part of St. Ann School's Spring Choral and Band Concert, the students debuted the original song composition that centered around chorus member and 4th grade student Victoria. The uplifting piece titled "Victory-Victoria" was composed by musician Thomas Schuttenhelm. He wrote the piece specifically for St. Ann School Chorus, based on an essay by Victoria, that represents their friend and fellow studentโ€™s story. Victoria suffers from Sickle Cell Anemia and this year she went through a very difficult surgery at the end of Januaryโ€”a liver transplant.

The entire band and choral concert was amazing and St. Ann School officials said, "We are incredibly proud of our students for the talent, dedication, and heartfelt emotion they brought to each performance throughout the evening." It was an night to remember on many levels, showcasing musical talent, friendship, resilience, and love.

Local TV station WFMZ was there to capture the special song last week, and we're sharing a link to the local newscast. Composer Thomas Schuttenhelm was also at the concert to see this special song performed. Don't miss this heartwarming video:

While the event highlighted the choir and bandโ€™s work over the past year, one performance stood out as especially meaningful.

Mary, Mother of God, we ask your intercession for all mothers today. We pray that they may be filled with courage, peace, and joy in their vocation. May their love reflect the tender love of your Son. Amen.

Today we celebrate Good Shepherd Sunday and ask that God will help us follow Him on the path towards holiness. We also pray for our pastor, Msgr. Coyle and Fr. Simon as part of a Day for Prayers for Vocations. Gratefully we acknowledge the priests, deacons, and other religious servants in our lives who shepherd and guide us in the most loving and selfless way. We pray for those who hear the Shepherd's voice as they look to their heart and follow their call to a spiritual vocation.
