A Labor Day Prayer ~

In this sacred moment, we turn within and rest in the awareness of the One Presence and One Power active in all life.

We give thanks for the divine gift of work - for every opportunity to create, serve, build, teach, heal, nurture, lead, repair, protect, inspire, and contribute to the well-being of our human family. We honor all whose labor, seen and unseen, helps sustain our homes, our communities, and our world.

We remember that our true worth is not measured by position, productivity, title, or income. Our worth is inherent. We are expressions of the Divine, endowed with spiritual gifts and infinite possibility.

God is our Source, Love is our Nature, Wisdom is our guide, and Divine Life is expressing through us now.

From this awareness, we bless the work of our hands, minds, and hearts. We affirm meaningful opportunity for all who seek employment, fair treatment for every worker, wisdom for those who lead and make decisions, and a renewed honoring of the dignity within every person.

We also bless the sacred rhythm of labor and rest. We release the belief that we must continually strive in order to be worthy, and we allow ourselves to receive renewal, restoration, and peace.

May every task become an opportunity for Love to take form. May our workplaces become places where integrity, compassion, creativity, cooperation, and respect are expressed. May the work we do contribute to a world of greater peace, harmony, justice, and abundance.

With grateful hearts, we behold Divine Life at work in us, through us, and as us.

We give thanks. We release this prayer into the activity of Divine Mind, knowing it is already so.

And so it is. Amen.

The Good Within the Appearance ~

“Behind the puzzle of the appearance of things is the Truth. In all things is the Infinite. In every experience is the element of good.”
— Martha Smock, Halfway Up the Mountain

Life does not always look the way we think it should. Circumstances can appear confusing, painful, unfinished, or even contrary to everything we have been affirming and praying for.

Yet Unity reminds us that appearance is not the whole story.

Beneath what the senses perceive is a deeper Reality - the One Life, the Infinite Presence expressing in and through all creation. This does not mean that everything that happens is good, nor that we need to deny grief, difficulty, or uncertainty. It means that no circumstance has the power to separate us from the Good that is our divine inheritance.

Sometimes the good within an experience is immediately visible. Sometimes it appears as unexpected strength, a new understanding, a deeper compassion, or a doorway we could not have imagined. And sometimes we simply cannot see it yet.

Our spiritual practice, then, is not to force an explanation onto every experience. It is to look more deeply - to see beyond appearances without denying them.

Behind the puzzle, Truth.
Within the circumstance, the Infinite.
Even here, the possibility of good.

Perhaps our prayer today can be very simple:

I look beyond appearances and rest in the deeper Truth. The Infinite is present here, and I remain open to the good that is seeking expression through me.

With tender hearts, we honor the passing of Rev. Edwene Gaines and give thanks for her remarkable life and ministry - a radiant expression of faith, joy, generosity, and abundant living. We bless her continuing journey in the One Life and hold with love all whose lives were touched and transformed by her extraordinary ministry.

We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Unity minister Rev. Edwene Gaines.

Throughout her life, Rev. Edwene shared a powerful message of abundance, teaching that prosperity is not simply about what we have, but about the consciousness we cultivate within.

Ordained as a Unity minister in 1979, Rev. Edwene was a renowned author and spiritual teacher. She touched countless lives and inspired many to embrace a greater sense of possibility and abundance.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and everyone who was blessed by her wisdom and presence. We honor her remarkable legacy and give thanks for a life devoted to spiritual growth and transformation.

"Everything organizes into beauty."

At first glance, this statement may seem difficult to believe. We need only glance at the headlines, recall a painful season of our own lives, or notice the unfinished places within ourselves to wonder, How can this be true?

Through a Unity lens, this quote does not suggest that everything is already beautiful on the surface. Rather, it points to a deeper spiritual principle: beneath the changing appearances of life, Divine Order is always present. There is an invisible intelligence within creation that continually moves toward wholeness, harmony, and greater expression.

Unity teaches that God is not a distant being who occasionally intervenes in the world. God is the very Life, Love, Wisdom, and Order expressing as all creation. Charles Fillmore identified Divine Order as one of the fundamental ideas of Truth. It is the spiritual law by which all things find their rightful place and purpose.

We catch glimpses of this in nature. A forest devastated by fire gradually renews itself. A river patiently carves a canyon through solid rock. The seasons move from barrenness to blossoming and back again, each contributing to the greater beauty of the whole.

Our own lives often unfold in much the same way.

Experiences that once seemed like interruptions become turning points. Loss softens the heart. Failure cultivates humility. Waiting deepens trust. Relationships refine our capacity to love. Even our unanswered questions can become sacred doorways into a larger awareness.

This does not mean that suffering is good or that we should glorify hardship. Unity never asks us to deny pain or pretend that difficult experiences are beautiful in themselves. Rather, we affirm that no experience is beyond the transforming activity of the Christ within.

The indwelling Presence continually redeems, reshapes, and reorders our lives, revealing gifts we could not yet see.

Beauty, then, is not merely aesthetic. It is the quiet harmony that emerges when we align ourselves with the Divine Life expressing through us.

Perhaps this is why spiritual practice matters so much.

Prayer quiets our resistance.
Meditation stills our fears.
Gratitude opens our eyes.
Compassion softens our judgments.

As we become more centered in the Christ Presence within, we begin to notice that life has been organizing itself all along - not always according to our plans, but according to a wisdom greater than our preferences.

Today's invitation is simple:

Rather than asking, "Why is this happening?" perhaps ask, "How might Divine Order be expressing itself here?"

Rather than trying to force life into your desired pattern, become still enough to notice the pattern already emerging.

Trust that beneath every apparent fragment, there is a greater wholeness seeking expression.

The beauty may not yet be visible.
But it is already unfolding.

An Affirmation for grounding ~

The Divine Order within me is always at work. I trust the quiet unfolding of Life. As I rest in the Christ Presence, everything in me gently organizes into greater beauty, wholeness, and love.

One Heart, One Nation, One Spirit: A Prayer for America’s Becoming ~

Centered in the awareness of the One Life, One Love, One Spirit expressing in us, through us, and as us ~

On this Independence Day, we pause in sacred remembrance and holy possibility. We give thanks for the vision that gave birth to this nation - a vision not yet fully realized yet still calling us forward: the promise of liberty, justice, dignity, and belonging for all.

At this inflection point in our nation’s unfolding story, we acknowledge both the beauty and the brokenness of our shared journey. We celebrate the courage, creativity, and compassion that have shaped us, and we humbly recognize the places where we are still being invited to heal, awaken, and grow.

We remember that the true strength of a nation is not found only in its power or prosperity, but in the consciousness of its people - in the love we embody, the compassion we extend, and the ways we recognize the Divine Light in one another.

“One flag, One land, One heart, One hand …”

May these words become more than an ideal we speak. May they become a truth we live.

May “one flag” remind us not of sameness, but of a sacred commitment to honor the many colors, stories, cultures, and experiences woven into the fabric of our shared humanity.

May “one land” awaken within us a deeper reverence for this Earth we call home - a willingness to care for the soil beneath our feet, the communities around us, and the generations yet to come.

May “one heart” call us beyond the illusion of separation. Where there is division, may we become bridges. Where there is fear, may we become expressions of love. Where there is despair, may we become bearers of hope.

May “one hand” remind us that we are not here simply to hold our own blessings, but to extend them - lifting one another, serving one another, and creating together a nation where every person knows: I belong. I matter. I am seen.

Today, we bless America - not as a perfect nation, but as a living vision, an unfolding experiment, and a sacred invitation.

May we have the wisdom to listen deeply,
the humility to learn continually,
the courage to change faithfully,
and the love to walk forward together.

May the Christ Light within each of us guide our words, our choices, our leaders, and our communities.

May we remember that peace begins within us.
Justice moves through us.
Love expresses as us.

And may we, the people, become the very prayer we offer - co-creating an awakened world of peace, harmony, and abundance.

“One flag, One land, One heart, One hand,
One Nation evermore.”

And so it is. Amen.

A Father's Day Prayer ~

On this Father's Day,
we pause in gratitude.

We give thanks for fathers and father figures,
for grandfathers, mentors, teachers, guides,
and for all who have offered strength, wisdom,
encouragement, and care.

We honor those who showed us how to persevere,
those who taught us by word and example,
and those whose quiet presence became a blessing in our lives.

We recognize that fatherhood takes many forms.
Some have nurtured children by birth,
others by choice, by circumstance, by community, or by love.
Each expression of faithful presence is sacred.

Today, we also hold tenderly those
for whom this day is complicated.
We embrace those who grieve fathers no longer physically present.
We remember those whose relationships with their fathers
were difficult or painful.
We surround with compassion those who longed to be fathers,
those estranged from family,
and all whose hearts carry unspoken stories.

In the silence of this moment,
may every memory, every joy, every sorrow,
be held in the healing and restoring Presence of Divine Love.

We affirm that the qualities we associate with fatherhood -
wisdom, strength, courage, steadfastness,
protection, and compassion -
are expressions of the Christ Presence within each of us.

May all fathers and father figures know that they are appreciated.
May they be renewed in body, mind, and spirit.
May they trust the wisdom within them.
May they know that their lives matter,
that their love has made a difference,
and that they are forever held in the embrace of Divine Life.

And may each of us continue to embody the sacred qualities of love, becoming a blessing to one another and to the world.

We pray in gratitude, for the gift of love in all its expressions.

Amen.

Join us as we celebrate Father's Day and honor paternal strength. ...
