The American Legion came out today to pay tribute to the Spanish-American War veterans laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery ahead of Memorial Day. At the same time, our local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops participated in their annual tradition of placing flags on veteran graves.

Between Arlington and Elm Lawn, more than 600 flags were placed.

This year’s timing brought both groups together, allowing the Legion and Scouts to share in a powerful and meaningful act of remembrance and service.

Arlington's entrance is getting a refresh! We are taking our time and restoring our 100-year-old-plus gates.

With this restoration comes a little bit of dust... throughout the course of the next month-and-a-half you will notice a lot of activity while they are restored. Please be cautious and look for signs of closed lanes as they may be affected while they complete the project.
