Today, Pastor shared a powerful message about who we are as His Church—a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, and a people set apart for God.
As it says in 1 Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”
From the very beginning of His earthly ministry, Jesus spoke power and authority over His disciples—and that same power is at work in our lives today. We truly are a peculiar people, set apart and carrying something the world cannot offer.
In Matthew 10:1, it says, “He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.”
God has set us apart and entrusted us with His authority—to walk boldly as His people. As Matthew 10:8 reminds us, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
This is not by our own strength, but through His power working in us. Ephesians 1:19–20 declares the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe—the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at God’s right hand.
And as Daniel 11:32 says, we will do great exploits—not for our own glory, but for the glory of God.
You need to know these things and those who don’t believe…well, they better hope you are around and have the faith to believe in the Promises of God if they die or are sick. They might just get raised from the dead or healed of their sickness. Don’t be afraid to believe…whatever God says in His Word is true.
