Our sister church in New Madison (331 E. Washington Street) will be having a worship service starting at 10am.

Join us tomorrow morning at 10:30am. Rev. Derek Parker will share his message, "The Perils of Progress". Most of the time progress, the idea that things can become better and improved, is a concept we can get behind. But progress has a shadow side that can make it complicated, and even a bit hurtful. Drawing from Christian materials, the Eastern Tao te Ching, and scientific thought, we will explore the hazards of progress.

Join us Sunday at 10:30am. Rev. Derek Parker's message is titled "Strangers In a Strange Land". In a matter of a few days 350,000 Haitian immigrants will have their protected status removed by the government, and will be subject to mass deportation. Given conditions in Haiti, this is a man-made humanitarian crisis, and a spiritual crisis as well.

Join us Sunday at 10:30am. Our speaker will be one of our former ministers, Donne Hayden. Her message for the morning will be "The Best Is Yet to Come; Hallowing Our Diminishments". Donne will be drawing on the work of the controversial Catholic priest and paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. He worked in the early 20th Century. Teilhard suggests that the second half of our lives includes the key task of "hallowing our diminishments". Come and explore!

Tomorrow morning at 10:30am, our guest preacher will be Rev. Dr. Joel Tisken. His message will be "Apocalypse, Now?", and he will explore the phenomenon of change that seems apocalyptic. The Rev. Tishken is the Senior Minister at our sister church in Muncie, Indiana.

As we celebrate our nation's 250 years of independence from the British Empire; we will turn our attention to John Quincy Adams. A Unitarian lay person, entombed inside the Unitarian affiliated "Church of the Presidents/Old Stone Temple/First United Parish Church".
