First Friday Adoration is coming up this Friday!

We still have a few open time slots in the afternoon and evening, and we would greatly appreciate a few more adorers signing up.

In order to offer Adoration throughout the day, each hour needs to be covered. If you have an hour available, please consider spending it with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

An hour with Christ is never wasted. Bring Him your worries, your family, your decisions, your gratitude—whatever is on your heart—and simply allow Him to meet you there. That quiet hour before the Eucharist may be exactly where He gives you the grace, peace, or strength you need.

Please consider signing up for one of the remaining openings.

What a great way to kick off the new school year! We had a wonderful morning with our PSR and Little Saints Academy families—and it was the perfect day for a water fight! The kids had a blast, and the parents had a chance to visit, relax, and enjoy the morning together.

Thank you to everyone who came out and joined in the fun! We’re excited for a great year ahead.

Little Saints Academy begins next Sunday, September 6, and our first day of PSR is September 13. See you soon!

PSR & Little Saints Academy families — don’t forget that our Family Kickoff is this Sunday after Mass!

If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please hop over to BAND and let us know you’re coming so we know how much food to cook. Don’t have BAND? Just contact the parish office and let us know.

We’ll have hamburgers, hot dogs, water games and a water fight, so bring a change of clothes and a towel!

All are invited to our Southwest Deanery Meeting this Thursday, August 27, at the National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church in Laurie!

This meeting is not just for parish staff or council members. Bishop O’Donnell wants to hear from the people actually living family life today—parents, grandparents, married couples, and parishioners experiencing firsthand the joys and challenges facing families.

A large part of the evening will be a listening session on marriage, parenting, passing on the Catholic faith, caring for one another, and how our parishes can better accompany families. These conversations will help inform the Church’s discernment on proclaiming the Gospel to families today.

We would love to have Sacred Heart represented! If you would like to attend and are interested in carpooling, please contact the parish office for details.

What a wonderful day! ❤️

We are so incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make yesterday’s parish picnic such a success. From those who spent weeks planning and preparing, to everyone who set up, cooked, served, worked booths, cleaned, donated, baked, sold tickets, welcomed guests, and jumped in wherever they were needed—thank you.

We were blessed with absolutely beautiful weather, a great turnout, and so many people willing to give their time and talents to make the day happen.

Days like yesterday are a wonderful reminder of just how much goes into making a parish community work. We are so thankful for our parishioners, our volunteers, and everyone who came out to spend the day with us.

The town’s biggest rummage sale, fried chicken, a craft fair, a car show, live music, bingo, AND an auction all happening in the same place?!

The Sacred Heart Eldon Parish Picnic is THIS SUNDAY, August 23!

The weather is looking beautiful this weekend, so get out of the house, come wander around, grab some good food, and spend part of your Sunday with us!

Picnic setup starts tonight, and we could use your help!

There is a lot to do before Sunday’s Parish Picnic, and many hands truly do make light work.

Tonight (Thursday) at 6:30 PM — We’ll be inside the Catholic Center unloading boxes, setting up tables and chairs, and getting everything organized.

Saturday at 7 AM — Outdoor setup begins.

Saturday at 8 AM — Food preparation begins, including slicing bread and other prep work.

If you’re available for even part of that time, please come lend a hand! We are so grateful for everyone who helps get things ready for a wonderful picnic on Sunday.

Our Parish Picnic is THIS Sunday! 🥧

As you’re making those final preparations, don’t forget the sweets! We’re asking parish families to bring three pies and/or cakes for our guests to enjoy with their meal.

Desserts are also needed for the Cake Walk outside. Whether you love to bake or would rather leave it to the professionals, we’ll happily take either!

And if baking isn’t your thing, this is a great chance to support our parish and another local business at the same time. MaMaw’s Rolls, Jams and More, LLC, Nolt’s, and our other local bakeries are all great options for picking up pies or cakes to bring along. If you’re ordering homemade goodies, please be sure to order as soon as possible so our local bakers have plenty of time to prepare!

Bake them or buy them—we’re just grateful for everyone who helps make our picnic possible. ❤️ See you Sunday!

We have two ministry trainings coming up at Sacred Heart!

Eucharistic Minister Training — The training that was to take this Sunday has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 13, following the 10 AM Mass. This training is for current Eucharistic Ministers and anyone interested in becoming one. Please consider joining us—we can always use more parishioners willing to serve in this meaningful ministry!

Altar Server Training — Sunday, September 20
Following the 10 AM Mass. All current servers are invited to join us for a refresher, and we will also be reaching out to families whose children received their First Communion in 2025 or 2026.

As part of our faith formation program, it is our expectation that students begin taking an active role in parish life after receiving First Communion, with altar serving being one of their first opportunities to do so. As we establish this expectation going forward, we are also inviting our 2025 and 2026 First Communicants to take this next step and become more involved in the life of their parish.
