Parents, we heard you!

After reaching out to families, several parents shared that Wednesday evenings simply aren't realistic during the summer with sports camps, practices, games, and family schedules.

Our goal has always been to make this series accessible to as many teens and parents as possible, so we've made a change.

Our Theology of the Body Summer Series has been moved to Sunday evenings!

New Dates:
June 7, 14, 21, and 28
6:00–8:00 PM
Catholic Center at Sacred Heart in Eldon

We'll still be covering important topics like identity, friendship, dating, vocation, and God's plan for our lives, with separate discussion groups for teens and parents.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share feedback. We are excited about this change and hope it allows more families to participate.

And remember—this series is open to all teens and parents in the community, not just Catholics. Invite a friend!

We hope to see you on June 7!

UPDATE: After hearing from several families, we have moved our Theology of the Body Summer Series from Wednesday evenings to Sunday evenings to better accommodate summer sports and activities.

The sessions will now be held on June 7, 14, 21, and 28 from
6-8 PM at the Catholic Center on the Sacred Heart campus in Eldon.

Our first session will focus on identity and self-worth. Where does your value come from? Is it based on your accomplishments, popularity, possessions, or mistakes? Why do we all long for happiness, love, and purpose? Small groups for parents and teens!

Join us as we explore the idea that our worth comes from being created and loved by God, and how understanding that can change the way we see ourselves and others.

Open to all teens and parents—Catholic or not.

Come for one session or all four. We'd love to have you!

We regretfully had to cancel today’s retreat due to lack of attendance. We’ll be honest, it’s disappointing after all the planning.

But we aren’t giving up! Our Wednesday Theology of the Body sessions are still on, and we would really love to see you there. Please make it a priority! We’ve got something special planned for every week.

Our Theology of the Body kickoff retreat is THIS SATURDAY, May 30, and we would love to have you join us! Please mark your calendars and come spend a few hours with us as we dive into St. John Paul II’s teachings on love, relationships, human dignity, identity, and God’s call for our lives.

This is not just for parents or teens currently involved in youth ministry — this is a parish event and everyone is welcome. Whether you are a parent, teen, young adult, married couple, grandparent, or simply someone wanting to grow deeper in understanding the Church’s beautiful teachings on the human person, you are invited.

Following the kickoff retreat, the series will continue every Wednesday evening in June. We hope you’ll come be part of these conversations and this community with us!

We are so proud of our Knights of Columbus and the incredible work they continue to do in our community! Recently, they donated wheelchairs to the residents at Eldon Nursing Home, Rock Island Village, and Miller County nursing homes.

Their generosity, service, and dedication to caring for others never go unnoticed. We are blessed to have such faithful men serving our parish and community in so many meaningful ways. Thank you, Knights, for being the hands and feet of Christ to those around you!

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Bob Stewart. Bob faithfully served as a sacristan at Sacred Heart and was deeply involved in the life of our parish. His kindness, dedication, and love for the Church touched so many lives, and he will be greatly missed by our parish family.

Bob’s visitation will be held Friday from 9:00–11:00 a.m., with the funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. Additional arrangements and obituary information can be found at the link below. Please keep Bob and his loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time.

Obituary:

Celebrate the life of Robert "Bob" Stewart and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences.

If you ordered Shakespeare’s Pizza through our NCYC fundraiser, pizzas will be available for pickup this Sunday!

Mary’s Home will have their gym doors open from 9 a.m. to noon for pickup there. Erin will pick up the Sacred Heart orders before our 10 a.m. Mass and bring them back to the Catholic Center kitchen, where they will be placed in the commercial fridge.

After Mass, the kitchen side door to the Catholic Center will be unlocked so you can come in and grab your order. Erin will do her best to have everything labeled and organized so pickup is as easy as possible.

Unfortunately, Erin will not be available to hand pizzas out personally after Mass because of an NCYC meeting with the teens immediately following Mass, so this will mostly be a self-serve pickup system.

If you are unable to pick up your pizzas on Sunday, no worries! Arrangements can be made for you to pick them up during the work week. Just reach out and we’ll make sure you get your pizza.

Thank you again for supporting our NCYC teens!

Mother’s Day at Little Saints Academy always gives us a few laughs. Today’s “All About My Mom” drawings and doodles included things like “My mom is 7 years old and her job is taking pictures” and “My favorite thing my mom taught me is how to drive.” Safe to say… the kids kept us entertained this morning. 😂

We also celebrated a beautiful Graduation Mass today for our senior and eighth grade graduates. Congratulations to all of our graduates as they begin this next chapter! Please keep them in your prayers. And to all of our moms, grandmas, godmothers, and spiritual mothers — Happy Mother’s Day! 💐
