Wow! We had another set of amazing pumpkins for our annual Pumpkins for the Missions Contest! Congratulations to this year's winners! In first place, the Meatball by James M.; in second place, McDonald's Happy Meal by Sophia P. and in third place, the Corgi by Henley T. Overall, we will be sending $571.55 to the MCA to help children all over the world. 🎃🌍🌎

As part of our celebration of Respect Life Month, our students took part in Celebration of Life presentations with Mrs. Patty Naylor, the Education Coordinator of First Step Women’s Center from Springfield, IL. First Step Women’s Center offers free care to women in the Springfield area facing unplanned pregnancy and partners with Heart of a Child Ministries to provide fetal development education to schools.

Heart of a Child Ministries is an Omaha-based, nationally recognized, pro-life education ministry that brings live ultrasounds into schools with professional ultrasound sonographers, experienced educators, health care professionals, and pregnant volunteers. All students see the miracle of life in the womb, listen to the heartbeat, and hear the truth about God’s love for the preborn person and for all of His children through Scripture and Church teaching

Congratulations to Mrs. Davis for being nominated for a Caring Hand Award! She was honored Friday morning at a special Mass at Incarnate Word Academy. Each year, freshman students at Incarnate have the opportunity to nominate a teacher, coach, or mentor who has made a lasting impact on them for our Caring Hands Award. Lexi Travnicek, a STB alumna from the class of 2026, nominated Mrs. Davis!

The 7th grade Religion class donated their time and resources to make warm hats that will be donated to the Evercare of Edwardsville nursing home, Catholic Children’s Home in Alton, and Mosaic Health pregnancy center in Granite City. They are witnesses of our Christian Catholic identity by giving to the poor. “Those who oppress the poor revile their Maker, but those who are kind to the needy honor Him.” Proverbs 14:31
