We celebrate the Commissioning of Pastor Jacob. He is now a Provisional Elder and will enter a two year “Resident in Ministry” (RIM) process. This is an important milestone on the journey to becoming a fully Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church.

(In case you were wondering, he has served as a Licensed Local Pastor until this time. LLPs have many of the same responsibilities as an Elder within the local church, but an Elder receives affirmation of their lifelong call to ministry and is ordained to Word, Order, Sacrament, & Service by a Bishop. As a Provisional Elder, Pastor Jacob is preparing to be fully ordained.)

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday!

Join us for a special and meaningful morning of worship as we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church.

This Sunday will also be a momentous day in the life of First United Methodist Church of Edna as we unveil and rededicate our repaired organ. After just over a year without it following the lightning strike, our organ has been restored and will once again be played in worship.

We hope you will join us for this special Pentecost and Organ Rededication Sunday at 10:00 AM in the Sanctuary.
