Has the Church Drifted from the Bible?

Our world has changed—but God’s Word has not.
Many today feel that the faith they once knew has shifted beneath their feet. What was once called sin is now celebrated. What was once sacred is now neglected. But Scripture reminds us: “The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations.” — Psalm 33:11

The Lord has not changed, nor has His Word. Yet, some churches now substitute the wisdom of men for the teaching of God. They replace preaching with entertainment, conviction with comfort, and truth with trends. But Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” — Matthew 4:4

And Paul warned, “The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires.” — 2 Timothy 4:3

If we wish to honor God, we must return to what is written. The Bereans were called noble because they “examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so” (Acts 17:11). That same diligence must define our faith today.

Let us be a people who speak where the Bible speaks and are silent where the Bible is silent. Let us measure every belief, every sermon, and every act of worship by the Word of God.
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” — John 14:15

Truth has not changed. God’s will has not evolved.
It is time to return—not to tradition, not to opinion but to the pure and perfect Word of God.

Jesus was a servant! And we must be one too!!

“Make Me A Servant” – Phil Sanders – 07/31/2025 – 10am

I frequently hear people say, "It doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you love Jesus." What they mean is that truth doesn't matter, but truth was very important to Jesus. Jesus could say, "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me" (John 14:6). How can one love Jesus and not love the truth as well. Jesus said in John 8:31-32, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” We must believe what He said; we must believe the truth to be set free.
We are purified and born again by our obedience to the truth (1 Peter 1:22-25). We are born of an imperishable seed, the living and abiding word of God. We are not born again through some spiritual experience or by a change in our feelings. We are born again when we obey the gospel that was preached from the beginning (Acts 2).

We should not take this gospel lightly, as if we could change it or replace it with popular ideas. If we love the Lord, we will trust what He says, not what the world says.Love keeps His commandments (John 14:15, 21, 23-24). If we wish to abide in His love, we must keep His commandments (John 15:8-10). Because His words matter, the truth matters. What we believe matters!

Repentance is necessary, because we love Him. Baptism (an immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins) matters because it is the gospel seed that brings us newness of life (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-7). Love doesn't argue, love obeys.
