In 2011, a car company aired a commercial featuring a young child dressed in a costumeattempting to use imaginary powers to control objects around the house. After several failedattempts at moving objects, the boy stands in front of his dad’s car, puts his hands out towardthe car, and the car engine starts! The boy is amazed at his powers, but the commercialreveals the dad is standing inside the house using a remote to start the car. The father was incontrol the whole time!

As we read the book of Esther, God’s name never appears in the story. He is not mentionedone time, yet it is evident that He is in control the whole time! When Mordecai heard Haman’sevil plan to kill the Jews, he reminded Esther that perhaps God had made her queen for apurpose. God used Esther to save His people from Haman.Esther’s life did not go exactly the way she had planned. There were ups and downs, but Godwas in control the whole time! We can trust that God has a plan for us too. No matter whathappens in our lives, we can know that God is in control, and His plans will always be for Hisglory and our good.

Even though Haman tried to hurt God’s people, God was in control and had a plan tosave the Jews. Sin hurts us and breaks our relationship with God, but God had a planfrom the very beginning to save us through Jesus death on the cross.

Pray: God, You are always in control. Help us trust that You have a plan and Your plans aregood. Even when we don’t understand what is happening, remind us that You have the powerto use what the enemy meant for evil and turn it for good and for Your glory! Amen.

Have you ever been to a family reunion? It’s like a big party where cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents—even people you’ve never met—come together to laugh, play games, share stories, andeat food. But did you know these get-togethers don’t just happen? Someone has to plan it all! They pickthe place, choose the food, order the matching T-shirts, and make sure everyone knows when andwhere to show up. That person is the family-reunion planner—the person who brings the whole familyback together for fun and memories that last a lifetime.

God used a king named Cyrus to bring His people out of captivity so they could be reunited in theirhomeland. King Cyrus decided to let God’s people return to Jerusalem to build God a temple there. Cyrus sent gold, silver, animals, and much more to help the people. Just as God had promised, thepeople were free to return to their homes after 70 years in exile.

The Bible tells us that all people are slaves to sin and have no power to free ourselves from itsconsequences. God loves us and sent Jesus as our Deliverer. Jesus is the One who came to free usfrom the chains of sin. If we trust in Jesus, we have freedom and a new home with Him forever andever.

Just as God promised, He brought His people back from exile to Jerusalem. One day, God willbring all His people together—all who trust in Jesus to save them from sin. There will be nocrying that day. The people will worship Him in the new heaven and new earth.

Pray: Jesus, thank You for loving us with such an amazing love. When it was our sin that led us intoslavery, You sent Your Son, Jesus, to free us! We know that it is Jesus’ death that has paid the price forour freedom, and it is His resurrection that promises a new life and eternal home with You for all whobelieve. Amen.

"Did you know that you have multiple dreams every night? You just can’t remember most of them. Dreams happen during REM sleep, which stands for Rapid Eye Movement. In this stage of the sleep cycle, the brain becomes highly active and processes information as if you were awake—even though you’re fast asleep!
Daniel wasn't just having normal everyday dreams like we all have! God gave Daniel a very specific message in his dream/vision. The vision that God gave Daniel didn’t make sense to him, but God sent an angel who helped him understand the message. God was showing Daniel a vision of His great power and His plans for the future. God wanted Daniel to see that no earthly kingdom could ever be more powerful than God and His Kingdom.
In our lives, we may fear those who have more power than us, or we may want to have more power for ourselves. But God’s message is true: God is more powerful than anyone and anything! We can trust God and worship Him because He is Ruler over all things.
Daniel’s visions pointed to the truth that God is more powerful than all earthly kingdoms. Jesus, the Son of Man, rules over the kings of the earth, and His kingdom will never end. One day, all who trust in Him will be with God forever.
Pray: Heavenly Father, You are the ruler over all kingdoms and nations. Though earthly powers may rise and fall, we trust in Your eternal and righteous kingdom. Help us trust in Jesus and put our faith in Him so we can be part of Your kingdom. Amen."

Have you ever been to a museum that has a skeleton of an extinct animal? It’s incredible
to see how the creature might have looked when it was alive. The museum usually puts the
animal skeleton in an exhibit that shows where it might have lived and what it might have
eaten. But no matter how hard people try, they can never bring that set of bones back to life.
It’s just not going to happen!
Ezekiel was a prophet who spoke God’s message to the people who were exiled. Although this was a hard job for Ezekiel, God gave him a vision. In this vision, God showed Ezekiel a valley
of dry bones. The bones represented the people of Israel. Ezekiel prophesied that God would put muscles, tendons, and skin on the bones. He would put breath in them so they would come
toto life.

Ezekiel encouraged the exiles. Apart from God, they were dead in their sin. But God was offering them life. He would restore their future. We too are dead in our sin. Apart from Jesus, we are like the dry bones Ezekiel saw. God showed Ezekiel His power to make dead people alive. We see God’s power at the cross, where Jesus died to save sinners. God raised Jesus from the dead, and He gives eternal life to those who believe in Him. We are dead spiritually in our sins. Only God can give us new spiritual life! Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the LIFE!

God breathed life into dead bones in front of Ezekiel. The apostle Paul said that we are dead in our sins, but God gives us new life in Him when we trust in Jesus. God will forevforever be the God of all people who trust in Jesus.

Pray: God, thank You for giving new life to those who trust in Jesus. We know that sin leads to
death—both physical and spiritual—so we praise You for sending Your Son to save us. Amen.

"Have you ever seen one of those TV shows where people buy an old, run-down house and make it look totally new again? It’s always fascinating to see how they can take something that everyone believed was ruined and make it into something beautiful and special. But that is nothing compared to the work God does to bring dead hearts back to life!

The prophet Jeremiah warned the people of Judah about the consequences that would come because they were disobedient and had broken their covenant with God. But with those words of bad news, Jeremiah also shared a message of good news. He told the people about a day when God would forgive sin and change people’s hearts. Jesus made these words come true!

God forgives our sin through His Son, Jesus. He changes us and gives us power through His Spirit to obey His commands. Jesus did not come to get rid of the law. Through His sinless life, Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the old covenant. When we trust in Jesus, we are credited with His righteousness and our changed hearts enable us to want to follow in Christ’s footsteps and obey God as well.

Like God’s people, we all have sinful hearts that do not obey God or love Him rightly. Through Jesus’ death on the cross, God made a new covenant. Those who trust in Jesus have their sin forgiven and have the law written on their hearts."

"Pray: Thank You, Father, for sending Jesus to bring us a new covenant. Through His sacrifice, we can be redeemed and can live in a loving relationship with You forever. Amen."
