Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Update‼️🍅

The MDAC Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) requires seniors to apply or reapply each year to receive benefits. While participants may be able to keep their card from a previous year, benefits are not automatically added each season.

Our FMNP staff has received a number of calls regarding whether benefits have been added to cards after an application has been submitted. If a senior successfully submitted an application and included their card number, benefits have been loaded to that card. If a new card was requested during the application process, the card should arrive within 4–6 weeks.

Due to a reduction in available funding for this year’s Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, we have reached the maximum number of applications that can be supported through our current grant funding. As a result, the application period is now closed.

We appreciate your interest in the program and encourage you to check the MDAC website later this season in the event additional funding becomes available. Information regarding the 2027 application period will be available in February 2027.
