Dear friends,

Since the news broke yesterday about the passing of Dolly Parton, the reaction by the public has been, in a word, seismic. All agree that Dolly’s good works will live on after her and will continue to affect people around the world.

To that end, I encourage all of you to consider giving to the Eau Claire Community Foundation’s Imagination Library fund. The Imagination Library was founded by Dolly and provides free books to children up to the age of 5. Colleen and my daughters benefited from this service as have countless other children across the country and around the world.

If we want to see goodness in the world, occasionally we have to do it. Please consider a gift to this worthy cause in honor of a servant of God.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of generosity following Dolly’s passing. In just a short time, more than $1,200 has already been donated to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library right here in Eau Claire. ❤️📚

However, aside from being an accomplished musician, Dolly Parton was a paragon of Christian Virtue, acting quietly to love her neighbors as herself. Through her tireless work millions of children have been given the gift of literacy and I imagine, when the story is told in full, the full scale of her philanthropy will astound us all. May she rest in peace and rise in glory, and may we all do as she has done: work to make this world a brighter place and to make the lives of our neighbors better.”
