It was a fun group that played music at the Eau Claire jail for anger management last night. 20 songs were song, 8 groups, and 31 incarcerated men and women joined us throughout the evening. We had a keyboard, 2 guitars, a hand drum, and many voices joined together. Thank you for your prayers and financial support that makes fun events like these possible.

Sophia's story: Sophia had lived a double life as a teenager, getting good grades on one hand and then drugging and "partying" on the other. Her probation officer gave her the ultimatum: either go to a wilderness camp for 3 weeks or spend 3 nights in the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC). Sophia choose the JDC. Sophia felt lonely and frightened while there. The other teens were harsh and unpredictable. Written all over her cell by a previous resident were the words, "I miss my baby" and she knew it took a long time to write that phrase. Sophia did not want to be in that environment for a long time. One evening she received an offer to visit with a volunteer from jail ministry. Sophia jumped at the opportunity. None of the other residents came out for the service, so Sophia was able to play the keyboard with the volunteer and have a moment away from the pressures of the block. After the encounter Sophia requested a Bible and began to read. She took that Bible home and had a desire in her heart to be a Christian. The road was long as she struggled to become sober, eventually turning back to her old habits of living. During a desperate time, she found a book at a thrift store that referenced the Bible. Sophia had a deep desire to become acquainted with scripture. Her journey led her to faith in Christ Jesus, a faith she is now able to share with her young children. The seed sown in that dark place at the JDC grew the faith in Christ she now experiences today. Please continue to pray for the youth of our community, many who are in need of the kindness of a stranger willing to bring the life and light of Jesus Christ to dark places.

Thank you to all officers in our 5 county region!

Behind every secure correctional facility is a team of professional men and women, who show up every day with resilience, integrity, and a commitment to performing a very difficult job the right way. Our correctional officers work in a very demanding and challenging environment, where professionalism, patience, and awareness matter every single moment.

Correctional officers are first class problem-solvers, communicators, and guardians of safety—for the public, for those in custody, and for each other. The work often goes unseen, but its impact is constant.

We appreciate the dedication and steady presence of our correctional staff. Thank you for what you do every day.
