Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Worship, Serve, Celebrate! Trinity Lutheran Church is a congregation of about 280 members nestled in the rural community of East Berlin, PA.

Our church, founded in 1811, has a rich and diverse history and many of our members are the third and fourth generations of the same church family. We offer Worship Service and Sunday School each Sunday, and invite you to participate in our service ministries, fellowship, outreach, giving, and study.

SAVE THE DATE! We’re excited to announce the date for our annual Penny Carnival event will be Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 4pm-7pm. Please MARK YOUR CALENDAR and plan to join us for a day of fellowship and fun! Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks regarding volunteer and donation needs.

The Women of ELCA will hold their picnic/meeting Today- Monday, June 1 at 5:30 PM at Janet McMaster‘s home and gardens. Please bring a cover dish to share. The meat, beverages, and place settings are provided. All women of Trinity are invited and encouraged to attend!

We are packing Good Food For You Bags on Tuesday, June 2nd at 7pm in the Social Hall. Please come out to help if you can!

Wednesday morning fellowship breakfast will take place at the EB Diner across the street from the church. Gathering time is 8:30am.

The Sharing Shelf has a great need for instant mashed potatoes (packets) & noodle and rice dinners (Ex: Knorr). Please think about this ministry when you are grocery shopping and donate if you are able. Thank you!

See the Sign-Up Sheet in the Narthex to be in charge of changing the church sign for a month. Individuals or families are welcome to engage in this ministry. You'd be responsible for advertising upcoming events, worship times, and catchy phrases. Change it as many or as few times per month as fits your schedule and/or interests. See Pastor Susan for details - she has a cool book with ideas you can use.

LAUNDRY DETERGENT NEEDED! We have an increased need for Laundry Detergent at the Food Pantry. This item is in high demand and is not frequently donated. Please remember our neighbors in need when shopping and bring the laundry detergent and place it in the shopping cart under the coat rack. Thank you!

Prayer Shawl Update: The Prayer Shawl ministry is taking a summer break. There will be no meetings in June, July, or August. We will start up again in September. See Pat with questions.

Project Cornerstone Update

April 1, 2026

Thank you, everyone, for your support of this important project!

As you can see scaffolding is now fully in place and work has begun on the bell tower.
The target is to have all work completed on the upper portions of the bell tower above
the Sanctuary roof line in the next 30 days. This would include slate removal and
replacement of the bell tower roof with standing seam metal roofing, new aluminum
soffit on bell tower eaves, installation of 28 new bell tower vent/bird screens, aluminum
louvers and bird screens covering the 4 bell tower openings, tuckpointing and interior
finishing of bell tower. Significant portions of the East, North and West sides of
Sanctuary have been tuckpointed. At this point the project is approximately 40% complete.

The Project Cornerstone fundraising committee is selling note cards with a beautiful picture of our church on the front. The cost is $20 for a pack of 8 cards. ALL proceeds will go to Project Cornerstone. Look for the display on Sunday. We have 25 packs of cards, get them before we run out!

Project Cornerstone Exciting News!
Trinity will be receiving $21,800 from the Robert C. Hoffman Charitable Endowment Trust Grant to fund the bell tower renovations! Thank you to Mary Ann Vance for writing this grant! Praise God!!

One full day of VBS, on June 24th. Noah's Ark VBS starts at 9:00 and ends at 3:00. However, we are allowing early drop offs and late pickups, so it's really 8-4. We are providing two snacks and lunch. The day is broken up into stations (music, Bible time, imagination stations, crafts, etc.). Contact Zwingli UCC to register.

Adopt a Homebound Disciple: In this ministry, you can "adopt" those members of our church family who are no longer able to regularly attend worship or participate in activities due to age or illness. We would like to have two people for each person. You'll have the chance to visit your adoptee every other month, to remember them on special days, and to simply let them know that they are still part of our family. Just call Judy Burgard or see the sign-up form on the bulletin board if you're interested.

Jackson Hinkle graduated on May 29 from Mechanicsburg High School. Jackson is the son of Josh and Tracy Hinkle and grandson of Jack and Kay. Jackson will attend Penn Tech College in Williamsport in the fall to pursue a career in the trades, with a focus on his love of welding - creating/ repairing in the future. He will spend this summer, prior to starting at Penn Tech, with Upper Allen Township Maintenance and part-time at Advance Auto Parts in Dillsburg.

Project Cornerstone Update

May 20, 2026

Thank you, everyone, for your support of this important project!

As you can see the bell tower roofing is nearing completion and the tuckpointing on the
West, East, and Southern elevations is nearing completion. It is expected the roofing
will be completed by May 22 (weather permitting) and a crane brought in the week of
May 24 to reset the finial (weathervane) and reconnect the lightning protection. When
that has been completed the scaffolding will be removed and the remaining tuckpointing
on the Southern exposures (West King Street) will be completed and a washdown of the
Sanctuary will be performed. According to Brady Romberger (Witmer) he expects the
masonry restoration part of the project to be completed by the end of June.
