DISCLAIMER: This is not a partisan post, nor will I engage in partisan political conversations. Please respect that.

Another "thoughts and prayers" moment for our nation that saddens my heart to no end. As a pastor, make no mistake, I am not knocking thoughts or prayers...not at all, and mine go to the families in Winder, Ga. 4 more beautiful lives taken from this world. 9 other individuals maimed. Another lost and isolated teenager who fell through the cracks and their poor family who will now reap the consequences. Countless lives and an entire community, changed forever. But I also know that sincere prayers lead to action. So, yes. This pastor prays. This pastor also realizes that God calls me to play my part in answering those prayers. Let us do all we can to make this world a better place—a place of peace, love, and empathy, rather than a place of conflict, hatred and apathy. Together, friends, we can do this! I have faith!

As the Scripture says, "Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone." (Romans 12:18, NLT)
