This past Sunday I found myself caught in the middle of an Active Shooter situation that took place at the In-n-out in twin falls Idaho. We were passing through town and decided to stop at one of our favorite places to eat.

I was dining in with my wife and 3 young children at the table closest to the main entrance. As shots rang out and screams that I will never forgot were heard, we quickly assessed the situation, and began to evacuate everyone in the dining hall out the back patio entrance on the opposite side of the building that the shooter was on.

My wife and I are very thankful for the two brave heroes that engaged the shooter while we escorted quickly the entire restaurant out the back patio doors on the opposite side of the building. We escorted and were with over a hundred people and making sure they remained safe at that time not knowing how many shooters there were. If it was not for their quick reactions of the two brave heroes there would have potentially been many more casualties and I honor them both for their heroism.

I am a firm believer if the need to stay diligent, to train, stay sharp, and preparedness. It is better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it. It saved many lives including our family on Saturday.

Please keep the families of the victims in your prayers, please pray for those that are still in critical condition, and please pray for healing for everyone that experience an incredibly traumatic situation as many are grieving the loss of those they were close to.
