To the members of the Star Idaho Stake,

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the summer with your families!

Recently we have felt prompted and inspired to carry out a challenge that will help all the members of the Star Stake with our Temple and Family History.

At Stake Youth Conference I gave a challenge to the youth of our Stake and now, I would like to extend that invitation and challenge to everyone in our stake to “UNITE A FAMILY” on the other side of the veil.

That’s right, Identify a family from your family tree that needs to have their Temple work completed! Once that family is identified, print out their cards and prepare to do their temple work!

Then as a family, work together to perform all the ordinances for each individual and Seal the family for time and all eternity.

During your journey, get to know and grow to love this family as you work to unite them.

Some time around Thanksgiving, we will announce a time, date and meeting place where we would like to invite your family to come prepared to share your experience of “Uniting a Family”.

Sunday morning we met with your Bishopric and tonight we met with the temple and family history consultants in your ward and they have been assigned and are prepared to help each family with this challenge.

We invite you to reach out to them and ask for help, guidance and support as you take this challenge on! They are encouraged to come to your home and help you with this great work.

We promise that as you do so, you will not only bless the lives of those people that you find and do the work for, but you and your family will be blessed by doing this work!

If you can’t find a whole family but parts of one, that is still part of “Uniting a Family”.

Lastly, we feel that “Uniting a Family” doesn’t just mean on the other side of the veil. If you are in a family where ordinances have not been completed for all of the members of your family; pray, fast and seek inspiration of how you can complete those ordinance so that you can unite your family on this side of the veil.

Attached is a flyer to help you along the way to complete this challenge.

Remember your ward temple and family history consultant are ready to help.

2023 Star Stake Youth Conference: Service Project

The youth built 20 picnic tables and 40 benches for Camp Rainbow Gold (a camp for children diagnosed with cancer).

Next Thursday, May 11, 2023, from 9:30-11:30 we will hold our monthly Humanitarian Meeting at the Park Lane Building (1133 N Park Ln, Eagle, ID 83616)! We have invited a few people from the Full Gospel Slavic Church to attend our Humanitarian Event – and they are excited. Tanya and her team will be available to answer questions and will have pictures of their trips to Poland where they delivered the goods you donated last year.
The needs in Poland and Ukraine are still so great! Over 15 million Ukrainians have been displaced due to the war and more than 8 million had to flee the country. We have been invited by the Full Gospel Slavic Church to assist with another donation drive. They will be sending a cargo jet full of supplies in the next few weeks. Will you help us fill the jet?
Anything you can help with is greatly appreciated!
Here is a list of items that are greatly needed in Ukraine/Poland:
- Gauze Roll bandages
- First Aid Kits
- CAT 5 Tourniquets
- Tylenol, Advil, IBUPROFEN,
- Burn Creams
- Children’s Vitamins
- Vitamins for Elderly
- Feminine pads
- Adult Diapers
- Oatmeal, Cream of wheat
- Blankets
- Baby diapers
- salt, pepper ( all spices)
- Gently Used clean clothes.
- Mens New Underwear
- Mens new Socks
- Women’s New Socks
- women’s new underwear, bras
- Quick meals
( Ramen noodles, cup of noodles, cereals, dry hash browns, dry potato’s, dry milk)
- Hygiene items ( toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, soap etc)
Items cannot be expired. (and canned good are too heavy to send)
Last year when the war in Ukraine began, we invited you to donate coats and shoes for the refugees who had fled to Poland. You responded with such amazing abundance we were overwhelmed! Thank you so very much. Those good were put to great use and appreciated by the Ukrainian refugees who fled their homes and left everything behind!
