Pastor's Monday Meditations: Sprinkling the Blood – At the rededication of the temple in 2 Chron. 29:22, sacrifices were made and the blood is said to have been sprinkled on the altar. Hebrews 9:19-22 states that blood was sprinkled almost everywhere in the sacrifices to purge their souls. Of course, this blood pointed to Christ’s death, the only perfect sacrifice that could ever cleanse any soul (Heb. 10:11-12). It is curious that the blood was sprinkled or poured out. It didn’t remain in the victim, the animal. As it was poured out, it symbolically covered all (Lev. 17:11). The blood, representing life, had to be offered to forgive the offending individual. Christ was the ultimate sacrifice and through His blood we can have an eternal forgiveness of sins and a home in heaven! Have you accepted His blood to bring forgiveness for your sins?
