Over the next few weeks, we will continue asking what it looks like to live under God’s Word and follow Jesus as our wise and gracious King.

The path of wisdom is not always the easiest or most obvious path. But it is the path of trusting God enough to let Him lead every part of our lives.

As you move through this week, ask:

What part of my everyday life still needs to be brought under Christ’s rule?

Walking wisely is not only about making a few major decisions correctly.

It is about following God in the ordinary parts of life.

It shapes the voices we listen to, the desires we allow to grow in our hearts, the words we speak, and the plans we make for tomorrow.

The path ahead is not always clear.

We may not understand what God is doing, why a door has closed, or where the next turn will lead. Our instinct is often to lean harder on our own judgment and try to regain control.

But Proverbs 3 calls us to something better:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
—Proverbs 3:5

Trust does not mean that every question has been answered. It means we know the One leading us.

Where have you been leaning on your own understanding this week?

Bring that area before the Lord. Return to what He has said. Take the next obedient step.

You may not see the whole path, but you can trust the One who does.

What do you do when the path ahead is unclear?

Proverbs 3 reminds us that wisdom is not found in controlling every outcome or understanding every turn. It is found in trusting the LORD.

This Sunday, we are beginning a new series called Walking Wisely: Following God in Everyday Life with a message from Proverbs 3:1–12:

Trust Him with the Path

We will consider what it means to keep God’s Word close, trust Him beyond our own understanding, honor Him with what He has given us, and receive His correction as the care of a loving Father.

You may not see the whole path ahead, but you can trust the One who does.

Join us this Sunday as we worship together and learn from God’s Word.

The Throne Is Still Occupied

Psalm 2 gives us a striking contrast.

The nations rage.
The rulers gather.
The kings make their plans.

But God is seated in heaven.

The noise of the world does not unsettle His throne. Human rebellion cannot overturn what God has established. Jesus is King whether the world acknowledges Him or not.

That truth should steady us, but it should also search us.

Where am I carrying a responsibility as though the outcome depends entirely upon me?

Am I faithfully doing what God has given me to do—or trying to control what only He can control?

A parent can teach, correct, listen, and pray, but cannot produce repentance in a child’s heart.

A church can preach, serve, and love its community, but cannot create spiritual life.

We work because God has given us work to do. We rest because we are not God.

Christ is still King. His rule is good. And Psalm 2 ends with this promise:

“Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”

What Are You Rehearsing?

Psalm 2 begins with the nations raging and the peoples plotting against the LORD and His Anointed.

The word translated “plot” comes from the same Hebrew root used in Psalm 1 for meditating. In Psalm 1, the blessed person rehearses God’s Word. In Psalm 2, the nations rehearse their rebellion.

That raises a personal question:

What have I been repeating to myself this week?

“I should not have to forgive.”

“If I do not control this, everything will fall apart.”

“I know what Scripture says, but my situation is different.”

Resistance to God does not always begin loudly. Sometimes it begins with a thought we repeat until disobedience starts to feel reasonable.

Take a few quiet minutes today and ask:

Where am I resisting Christ’s authority?

What has He plainly said that I am still trying to negotiate?

Am I allowing God’s Word—or my fears, wounds, and preferences—to shape the way I think?

The King whom the world resists is still the King who invites sinners to find refuge in Him.

This week we will be in Psalm 2 with a message titled:
“Come Under the King’s Mercy”

Psalm 2 reminds us that the world may resist the Lord’s King, but Jesus still invites sinners to find refuge in Him. This is a wonderful reminder that true blessing is found in submitting to Christ’s rule and taking refuge in His mercy.

If you are weary, uncertain, or simply need to be reminded who is truly on the throne, we would love to have you join us.

On Sunday we considered the life Psalm 1 describes: a life rooted in God, nourished by His Word, and known by the Lord.

The blessed life is not the easy life. It is not a life without grief, pressure, temptation, or weariness. It is the life planted near the stream.

A tree planted by water may still face heat, wind, drought, and storms. But it has roots. It has a source of life deeper than the weather around it.

That is what God gives His people through His Word.

So this week, ask yourself: What voices have been shaping me most? What counsel have I been walking in? Am I letting God’s Word become the steady truth beneath my feet?

Come back to the stream.

Open the Word again. Pray again. Trust Christ again. Roots grow before fruit shows.

“The LORD knows the way of the righteous…”

This Sunday we will be in Psalm 1 and considering what it means to live The Rooted Life.

We live in a noisy world, and all of us are being shaped by something. The voices we listen to, the counsel we follow, and the things we return to when we are tired all begin to form us.

Psalm 1 sets before us two ways: one that leaves us rootless, and one that leads to life, stability, fruitfulness, and blessing.

The good news is that the Lord calls weary and drifting people back to the stream. He roots His people in His Word, nourishes them by His grace, and points us to Christ, the truly blessed Man.

Join us this Sunday as we worship together and hear from God’s Word.
