The ascension does not mean Jesus is gone.
It means Jesus reigns.

This morning we closed our journey through the Gospel of Luke by looking at the final picture Luke gives us of Jesus:

Hands lifted.
Blessing His people.
Ascending to reign.

What a beautiful reminder that Jesus does not stand over His people with clenched fists or folded arms of disappointment. He lifts scarred hands in blessing over weak, forgiven, restored disciples.

Because Jesus is ascended and reigning, we can worship joyfully.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning at Drummond Community Church. As you go into this week, remember:

You are not worshiping an absent Savior.
You are following a living King.

“And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy…”
Luke 24:52

What if the ascension does not mean Jesus is gone…
but that Jesus reigns?

This Sunday we come to the final scene in the Gospel of Luke.

Jesus lifts His hands.
Jesus blesses His people.
Jesus ascends into heaven.
And His disciples return with great joy.

Why joy?

Because they understood something we need to remember:

The ascension is not Jesus’ absence.
It is His enthronement.

The King who was born in humility, crucified for sinners, and raised from the dead now reigns in glory — and He still blesses His people.

Join us this Sunday as we finish our journey through the Gospel of Luke with a message from Luke 24:50–53:

“The Ascended King: The King Who Blesses”

Come worship the risen and reigning Christ with us.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day, and while it can be a beautiful day, it can also be a heavy one.

Many people are carrying quiet exhaustion.
Trying to hold everything together.
Trying to be enough.
Trying to carry burdens God never asked them to carry.

This Sunday we are going to open God’s Word together and look at the invitation of Jesus to weary hearts:

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

Our sermon this week is titled:
Held, Not Crushed
Hope for the Weary Heart

We will look at:
- the pressure our culture places on mothers and families,
- the difference between faithfulness and perfectionism,
- where true identity is found,
- and the rest Jesus offers weary people.

This message is not only for mothers.
It is for anyone who feels tired, burdened, discouraged, anxious, or spiritually exhausted.

Join us this Sunday at 11 AM at Drummond Community Church.

There is already a Savior.
And it is not us.
Christ is enough.

What if the reason we struggle with fear is not because life is out of control but because we are not seeing it clearly?

In Luke 24, the disciples come face to face with the risen Jesus.

He is standing right in front of them and yet they are afraid.
Why?
Because they are seeing something real but not yet understanding it rightly.

This Sunday, we will walk through Luke 24:36–49 and see how Jesus:
reveals Himself to fearful people
brings clarity to confused hearts
defines the message of the gospel
and sends His people out in His power

When Jesus is truly seen, everything begins to change.

This Sunday is the second week of Advent, and our focus is Peace.
Not the fragile peace the world gives, but the deep, steady peace Jesus promises even in the chaos of real life.

You are welcome. You are wanted.
And there is peace for you in Christ.
Service starts at 11 AM.

Join us as we continue our series on what it truly means to be a Christian. This week, we are diving into 1 Corinthians 12:12–26 to discover how God has uniquely designed each of us to be members of one another.

We’ll explore:
How our differences are part of God’s plan
Why no Christian is meant to live in isolation
Practical ways to step into your God-given role in the Body of Christ

Whether you’ve ever wondered where you fit in the church, or how your gifts can strengthen the community, this message is for you.
