Tell of God's Goodness Tuesday

God has been so good to us. On Sunday, The Gathering House Christian Center was able to celebrate the blessings of God we have seen in the life of our graduates during our High School Senior Spotlight Sunday.

Our Pastor and various ministry departments honored the graduates for their accomplishments and shed tears of joy as the seniors honored their parents, family, and church family members.

Congratulations again to Brandon "BJ" Crook, Jr., Kamorah Crook, and Elayeh Thorpe! We are so proud of you! ❀️ πŸ‘πŸ½

Memorable Moments Monday

Yesterday was such a powerful moment in God. As we celebrated graduation and transition, we were blessed by God to hear a powerful word from our Overseer Dwayne Waterman on the importance of being a home. Here are some insights from his message.

Sermon Title: There's No Place Like Home
Key Scripture
Luke 15:11 - - Parable of the Prodigal Son and His Brother

Even when life is lifing, don't forget your commitment to God because it goes beyond you.

Luke 15:14 - "When he had spent everything, a severe famine took place throughout that region, and he began to be in need."

Famines can come when you are where you aren't supposed to be. Sometimes the work we do is because of disobedience

Luke 15:16 - "He would gladly have filled his stomach[b] with the pods that the pigs were eating, and no one gave him anything."

The prodigal son's favor dried up because of where he chose to be and do.

Luke 15:18 - 23
The father celebrated that he came home.
We must make people feel like they can come home.

Luke 15: 27 - The most important thing was the son's safety.

Two things you need to have a home:

1. Safety

2. Seen

If you are safe but not seen, you are not in a house, but a hotel.

The Gathering House Christian Center (GHCC) is the place where people are called to be safe and seen.

GHCC is called to create an environment where people feel home when they may have never experienced it before.

In the parable of the Prodigal Son, the feeling of home evangelize the son to a point he came back to it.

We must be intentional about creating environments that feel like home so people want to come back to them.

We spend to create safety and being seen because we want people to feel at home.

Satan will attack your home to ultimately get to the homes of others through you. How many "homes" does your life represent? How many homes could be destroyed if you don't reach your God-given purpose?

In the parable the father saw the boy a far off which means he was looking for him.
We must look for the people who departed from home and celebrate when they return without animosity.

Sunday Service Recap: May 24th, 2026

Pastor Kim Whyatt preached a powerful message yesterday reminding us to take our eyes off distractions meant to discourage us and keep our eyes on Jesus. Here are some highlights from her sermon.

Sermon Title: Take Your Eyes Off the Numbers

Acts 2: 1 - 4 kjv

Being filled with the Holy Spirit requires us to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Take your eyes off the numbers because it's taking your focus off God.

Acts 1:15
1 Cor. 15:1 - 11

Regardless of the numbers, we are going to give God all the glory and honor due to Him.

What God has done is not in vain regardless of what people believe, even your family.

Take your eyes off the numbers
* church attendance
* Facebook likes and shares
* Instagram followers
Keep your eyes on God and do the labor He has called you to do.

Sometimes God can't exalt us because we get the big head and make it all about us.

1 Corinthians 15:11 NIV
Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

Paul didn't get stuck in the trap of comparison. He was focused doing the will of God.

We are not in alignment with God because we are more focused on what matters to man instead of God.

Sometimes we miss the greatness of people because they were not a part of the clique you grew up in.

Don't be busy spreading gossip instead of the Gospel

Don't blame others for your stagnation.

Our God is bigger than a number. Keep your eyes focused on Him and His word.

Memorable Moments Monday

Sunday Service Recap: May 17th, 2026

On May 17th, 2026, The Gathering House Christian Center celebrated Ministers in Motion and had the honor of seeing God moved mightily through Min. Gendria Manning. Here are some insights from her sermon.

Sermon Title: Are You in Alignment with Your God-given Assignment?

Alignment is proper positioning. It means bringing your life, thoughts, attitude, and actions into agreement with God's word instead of the world.

Amos 3:3 NIV
Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?

Romans 12:2 NIV
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is β€”his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Oftentimes we ask ourselves, "Am I equipped for this assignment?" The answer is yes!

God has made provision for what He has called you to do.

Most people don't struggle with what they are called to do. They struggle because they overthink what God has already said. Are you overthinking your assignment instead of relying on God to help you do it?

Isaiah 55:8
β€œFor my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.

God is not asking you to fully understand for you to move forward. He is asking for you to fully trust so you can obey Him.

Maybe you are waiting on clarity, but clarity is waiting for you on the other side of obedience.

God will give you your next set of instructions when you obey.

Remember to renew your mind because whatever is consuming your thoughts is governing your emotions and guiding your actions

Get in alignment with God and His word so you can fulfill your assignment
