The God Who Sees Me
by Pahola Rojo

El Roi: this is the first name of God that appears in the Bible, and it means "The God Who Sees Me." When Hagar found herself in the desert (Genesis 16), with a broken heart and seemingly no help, the angel of the Lord appeared to her and told her that God had heard her affliction. In response, she called Him El Roi, The God Who Sees Me.

Last Christmas, one of our programs took place at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan. I love this church. It is excellent in everything it does. I could share many miracles and testimonies from this church. When we arrived, the children were playing soccer... but with a basketball! We had brought soccer balls, so we immediately gave them one to play with, and even left an extra one for them to enjoy later.

Their pinata already had some candy, but we filled it to the top so the children could enjoy it fully. We also brought some special gifts for Pastor Jonathan's grandchildren. To his oldest granddaughter, we brought a guitar that had been donated through a Faith Ministries Church-organized toy drive. When she opened it, she couldn't believe it! She loves to sing and had been saving for a guitar for a long time. Immediately, she started figuring out how to tune it and asked how we knew she had wanted a guitar.

The truth is, we didn't know. I don't even personally know the person who donated it. But I remember a conversation I had with Pastor Jonathan earlier, where he taught me to say in his native Mayo language: "God is with the indigenous people."

And it is true.

My God (our God) is El Roi. The God Who Sees Me. He sees our needs, our desires... the smallest details. Bringing the soccer ball at just the right time, filling the pinata with candy, providing an instrument that will develop a young girl's ministry... these are all answers from The God Who Sees. God sees these communities. His eyes are upon the afflicted, upon those facing difficult moments.

God sees you. God sees them. God sees us. And just as Hagar said, "I have now seen the God Who Sees Me."

LIFE AND DEATH PUDDING
A yummy object lesson recipe to make with your kids.

INGREDIENTS

2 20 oz. cans crushed pineapple, undrained
1 pint heavy cream (whipped)
2 4 oz. pkgs. pistachio pudding
1 7 oz. jar marshmallow cream or 2 cups miniature marshmallows

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS

canned whipped cream
maraschino cherries

DIRECTIONS

Put pineapple in a bowl. Say: "Have you ever noticed that pineapple stings your mouth when you have a cut or sore in your mouth. The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. When we say mean words to people, it stings (hurts). If we hurt someone with our words, we need to ask them and Jesus to forgive us."

Add whipped cream. Say: "When we ask for forgiveness, the Bible says that Jesus forgives us and that our sins are washed as white as snow."

Add pudding. Say: "Green reminds us of new life. We have new life in Jesus when we ask Him to forgive us and be our savior."

Add marshmallow cream. Say: "White looks very clean. After we ask Jesus to be our savior, we are clean. The Bible says that God doesn't even remember our sins after we have asked for forgiveness."

Pray with the children and then enjoy the pudding. This is a good time to talk about hurtful experiences and the importance of forgiveness.

OPTIONS

Add a sq**rt of whipped cream from a can. Have the kids each sq**rt some out onto their pudding. Then pass the can back around and tell them to put the whipped cream back in the can. Explain that words are like the whipped cream. You can say that you are sorry, but you can't take your words back after they have been spoken. Explain the importance of words.

Maraschino cherries can represent our sin and/or Jesus' shed blood when He died on the cross. Isaiah 1:18 is referring to the forgiveness of sins, made possible by Jesus' death on the cross, when it says, "The Lord says, 'Now, let's settle the matter. You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool.'"

FELLOWSHIP MEETINGS
By Barbara Scott

The fellowship meetings have been awesome with the presence of the Lord, and the sweet fellowship we have with our family in the Lord. People have been born again, healed, and filled with the Spirit. There have been times of dancing in the Spirit and prophetic words. It is just too good to miss!

Psalms 133: 1-3 NLT "How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron's head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting."

Upcoming Fellowship Meetings

AGUA PRIETA, SONORA - Saturday, June 20, at Iglesia Nueva Vida. Right across the border in Agua Prieta, a few minutes away from Douglas.

CUMPAS, SONORA - Saturday, August 22, with Pastors Jesus and Adalina Espinosa at Iglesia Dios es Amor. About 2 and a half hours from Douglas.

TEONADEPA, SONORA - Saturday, October 17, with Pastors Rodrigo and Olga Suja at Iglesia Cristiana Victoriosa en la Fe. Just over 2 and a half hours from Douglas.

30-Plus-Year Roof

We didn't have room for very many pictures when we shared about the new Cumpas Mission Station roof in last month's newsletter.

Steel C purlins and a galvalume roof should last at least another 30 years. We are so thankful.

VBS in Mexico
by Barbara Scott

As you are reading this letter, we are preparing to reach 14,000 children. Through our precious partners, we will be hosting VBSs in southern, central, and northern Sonora, as well as in Chihuahua and Sinaloa. Most of the programs will be in southern Sonora.

Besides the Mexican children, we will be ministering to the Mayo, Guarijio, and Tarahumara tribes, as well. Hallelujah!

We estimate needing about $4,500.00 more for this year's programs. In addition to purchasing material, we like to help the many teams going out with travel expenses and to provide refreshments for the children attending VBS.

We also sponsor a large VBS in Agua Prieta at Agua Viva church, right across the border from Douglas. They write and produce their own programming.

Then there is the cost of travel for the volunteer overseers who distribute the material and supplies for the small pueblos. And we like to provide a full meal for the children, not just snacks, in the poorer areas. Some programs are done in places that are known to be the poorest in Mexico.

We continue sponsoring programs where we have been doing programs, but we are always looking for new communities that need the Gospel. After we have done Christmas and VBS programs in new areas, it is not long until a church is born there, because the people are hungry for God and His Word. It starts with a Bible study, and within a brief time, a church has been born.

We have never sponsored children's programs to start churches, but the programs start a natural flow. When people receive Jesus as their Savior, they desire to learn God's Word and fellowship with people of like faith. Hallelujah!

The material we have been using for years comes from Los Ninos Cuentan (Children Are Important) by Equip and Grow. They have excellent material that includes daily Bible lessons, workbooks to help the children to remember and understand the lessons, and a daily memory verse that establishes the Word in their hearts.

Every one of you who invests in establishing God’s Word in each child's heart is part of the process of bringing people to Christ and the expansion of God's reign on this earth.

This year's theme is My Identity in Christ in a Digital World.

The curriculum guides children on a relevant and necessary adventure where they discover who they really are (in Christ) in a world full of screens, social media, and messages that often confuse their identity.

We live in a digital world that is rapidly advancing, but God continues to call a generation that is firm and secure. They are valiant and know their identity in Christ, and they walk with purpose.

You may be wondering why this subject would matter in some of the areas where we minister. Even in the most remote and primitive areas, most people have cell phones with Wi-Fi.

Thank you for helping us take the love of Jesus to the children of Mexico.

Oh, What the Lord Has Done
Venture of Faith

by Barbara Scott

We rejoice in the miraculous blessings of the Lord! He has kept us moving ahead in His plan for this ministry, as we continue to pursue our Venture of Faith, the Lord continues to bless us and use us and keep us safe. He is faithful! At this writing, we are deeply involved in the plan that began in 1985. Looking ahead at our assignment, it seems impossible to the natural eye, but to he who believes all things are possible! (Mark 9:23)

Working The Vision

Luke 9:62 "But Jesus said to him, 'No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.'"

Since we obeyed God's call 41 years ago, we've seen the hand of the Lord is positioning us closer and closer to the multiplication of success and blessing He promises in His word. Success to us is the harvesting of souls from the nations of the earth. The greatest blessing of all is to find ourselves completely consumed with the implementation of that harvest.

God's message in John 4:35-36 NIV is clear, "Do you not say, four months more and then the harvest? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life."

Then in Matthew 9:37-38 NIV, He tells us, "...The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore to send out workers into his harvest field."

Everywhere there are hardened hearts blinded by false religion or deep in sin and witchcraft. Even these people have a right to hear the truth of the Gospel. There are over 120 million souls in the 32 states of Mexico, and most of them are waiting for someone to reach them with the hope of salvation. What can be done to reach them?

~ Pray and get involved

~ Go and get involved

~ Encourage missions

~ Send someone

A good idea is like a good egg. It must be used, or it will go bad.

We must get involved in the spreading of the Gospel. Not just in Mexico but also to the ends of the earth. Almighty God Himself commands us, instructs us, prompts us, and expects us to be obedient to His Word.

Opportunities are wide open. Here at Faith Ministries. We have people qualified, called, and baptized with the Spirit, to do the same things Jesus did, preaching the Good News, setting the captive free, doing good, and healing all who are oppressed by the devil.

Christianity is not a philosophy. It's a relationship with the living God.

In our walk with God, we don't get a road map where we can find the way by ourselves. We get a tour guide. The Holy Spirit directs, reveals, and empowers us to be and do what the Word says.

Romans 10: 13-15 (ICB) "The Scripture says, 'Anyone who asks the Lord for help will be saved.' But before people can trust in the Lord for help, they must believe in Him. And before they can believe in the Lord, they must hear about Him. And for them to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them. And before someone can go and tell them, he must be sent. It is written, 'How beautiful is the person who comes to bring good news.'"

Get involved in the spreading of the Gospel!
