ā˜€ļøYou Don’t Know the Cost

ā€œLet everything that has breath praise the Lord.ā€ — Psalm 150:6

People see the praise, but they don’t always know the price.

You don’t know the prayers that were prayed in secret. You don’t know the tears that fell when no one was watching. You don’t know the battles fought in silence, the doors that closed, the heartbreak that almost broke me, or the moments I questioned how I would make it through.

So if my praise seems loud… if my worship seems passionate… if my ā€œAmenā€ carries a little more weight than yours… understand this:

You don’t know the cost.

My praise isn’t performance—it’s payment of gratitude. It’s the evidence that God brought me through what should have broken me. Every clap is a testimony. Every lifted hand is a reminder that God’s grace kept me. Every ā€œHallelujahā€ is proof that what tried to destroy me didn’t win.

Never judge someone’s praise by what you can see, because you have no idea what God has delivered them from.

This morning, don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re doing ā€œtoo muchā€ for God. When you remember what He has done, there is no such thing as praising Him too much.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for every valley You carried us through and every battle You fought on our behalf. Let our praise never be based on our circumstances, but on Your faithfulness. May our worship always reflect our gratitude for what You have brought us through. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Remember: Someone may not understand your praise, but they don’t know the cost.

Midweek Meditation

Happy Wednesday, Family!

As we journey through this week, remember that God has already gone before you. The burdens you carry are not too heavy for Him, and the battles you face are not bigger than His power.

ā€œCast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.ā€ — 1 Peter 5:7

Whatever this week has brought—joy or disappointment, celebration or struggle—don’t lose heart. God is still working behind the scenes, even when you can’t see it. Every prayer you’ve prayed, every tear you’ve cried, and every act of faith you’ve taken has not gone unnoticed.

Take a few moments today to pause, breathe, and thank God for His faithfulness. Let His peace quiet your heart and His promises strengthen your spirit.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for carrying us through another week. Renew our strength where we are weary, restore our hope where we are discouraged, and remind us that You are always with us. Help us to trust You completely and to walk by faith in every circumstance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May the rest of your week be filled with God’s grace, favor, and peace.

Blessings,

In 1787, a group of Black worshippers in Philadelphia were told to get up off their knees and pray in the back. ⛪ So they got up and walked out for good. One of them was Richard Allen, a man who had bought his own freedom, and he was not about to be treated as a guest in the house of God.

Allen and Absalom Jones went on to form the Free African Society, and in 1794 Allen founded Mother Bethel, the church that became the cradle of the African Methodist Episcopal denomination, the first independent Black church body in the country. šŸ™ŒšŸ¾ It grew into a place of worship, a school, a stop on the Underground Railroad, and a meeting ground for a whole people. The congregation still gathers on that same ground in Philadelphia today, more than two centuries later.

They were handed a back pew and answered with a whole denomination. When has your family ever turned being shut out into building something of your own?
