Today, our community is grieving the sudden death of Denton Police Chief George Bacorn following a motor vehicle collision.

Chief Bacorn faithfully served the people of Denton for decades. He was well known, deeply respected, and greatly appreciated throughout our community. We are grateful for his many years of dedicated service.

Please join us in praying for Chief Bacorn’s family, the men and women of the Denton Police Department, and everyone in our community reeling from this sudden loss. We also pray for the other driver injured in the collision.

May God draw near to the brokenhearted and surround all who are grieving with comfort, strength, and peace in the difficult days ahead.

“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 (ESV)

Starting a new job, a new relationship, or a new ministry path—life is full of transitions and uncertainties. In every season, finding clarity and purpose means looking to Jesus for guidance and strength. Trust in His plan, even when the way forward is unclear.

We never celebrate the roots, but when challenges hit, their deep hold is what truly matters. Appearance fades, but inner strength endures through the trials.

Prayer isn't a replacement for action, but it fuels our mission with God's compassion. When you struggle to see people as Jesus does, try praying for them more than you talk about them. It will change your heart and mind.

Being a Bible reader is great, but the real goal is to become a Bible nerd – someone who understands what the text truly means. Ultimately, the aim is for this understanding to transform your life and lead to fruitfulness.

Bible information gives you knowledge, but Bible formation transforms your life. It changes how you speak, handle anxiety, spend money, and treat others. It's about the Word taking root within you, shaping your actions and responses in real life.

Did you know the entire Bible, from Moses to the prophets, tells one unified story? Jesus revealed that all scriptures point directly to him, a truth his listeners hadn't grasped. This profound connection reshapes our understanding of faith.

The Bible isn't just one book, but a unified story told through diverse genres and voices. Finding the balance between its unity and diversity prevents fragmentation and shallow interpretation. Jesus is the center that holds it all together.

Feeling like God isn't present doesn't mean He's actually gone. Lean in, keep praying, and stay connected. You might be closer than you think.

We often mistake disappointment for spiritual failure. But what if it actually stems from deep faith? You can't be disappointed if you didn't truly believe or care. These disciples cared deeply, which is why their disappointment felt so profound.
