We had a fresh batch of cookie monsters last night who decorated their own cookies, played cookie games, and even earned some cookies for saying their memory verses. We continued learning about God's plan (in Esther) and His creation (Genesis). We are rounding up our overalls and hoping to see everyone for next week's barnyard bash.

Last week, all eyes were on Mrs. Debi's silly spectacle snacks, funny four-eyes, and learning from the book of Esther about how God is sovereign and working behind the scenes (Our Gopher Buddies began learning about God our Creator).

Last Wednesday, we had a hair-raising night. Here are a few pictures below of the wacky hairstyles and the night. Our elementary students learned how memorizing God's Word can shape us (like Play-Doh), and Gopher Buddies learned that God's Word is for everyone. Come tonight for Duck and Chuck (dodgeball).

We are looking forward to seeing all the wacky styles at this Wednesday's Hair-Raising Hootenanny Olympian Night. Last week, each team showed off their Olympian team color, and the Challengers won the team face-off at game time! (Check out the video.) We learned about how God talks to us through prayer, and all of our Olympian students received their devotion and memory verse books to dive into God's Word each day.

Our Olympian Opening Ceremony included learning about how to develop our relationship with God through His Word, creating Olympic torches, our version of Olympic games (speed skating relay and curling). Next week will be "Clash of Olympic Colors," and students will receive their bags and devotion books. Join us at 7 p.m. in the gym. We are so thankful for the effort these students put into learning God's Word this year in Olympians. On Wednesday, our students stood on the podium to receive their bronze, silver, and gold medals! We look forward to starting back on Wednesday, August 5 at 7 p.m.

Last week in Olympians, we not only had a blast with our Nerf guns, but we also learned from 2 Timothy about sticking to what we believe (doctrine). Students gave us an example by throwing cheese balls that stuck to their teammates' heads. Our Gopher Buddies learned about courage and doing the right thing from Daniel. They even showed their courage by standing in the "fiery furnace."
