I found out recently that butterflies can fly in the rain, but they almost never do.

A butterfly is a delicate creature, and its wings are paper‑thin.
Rain doesn’t just make flying difficult … it makes flying dangerous. A single raindrop can weigh as much as a butterfly’s entire body. One drop can knock it out of the air.

So what does a butterfly do?

It waits. It hides.
It survives the storm instead of trying to fly through it.

Storms don’t mean you’re broken … they mean you’re wise enough to take cover.
Rest is not failure … even God designed his creatures like the butterfly to pause when the environment is unstable … even hostile.
The enemy will call your rest “weakness.”
But Heaven calls it wisdom.

Butterflies don’t fly in the rain because they were not designed to fly in the storms, they were designed to fly after them.

The struggles of leaving an old season to enter into a new season.

This hits hard because every leader, every saint, every pastor eventually walks through the ache of leaving an old season to step into a new one. It’s seldom simple. It’s never painless. It’s holy … but it’s hard.
If we’re honest, leaving an old season feels like loss, even when the new season is God ordained.

The struggle isn’t because the new season is wrong.
The struggle is real because God is requiring a version of you that the old season could not produce.

When leaving for the new season, suddenly you’ve realized the comfort of the old season.
Old battles feel comfortable because you learned how to fight them.
Old blessings feel comfortable because you knew how God moved.
Your old identity feels stable because you got used to who you were in that season.

We should be thankful that God knows what comfort will cause someone to become so his plan is
to never let comfort become a cage.

Refining, rebuilding, reshaping, and repositioning, with that in mind, let’s look at the old season being the seed, the new season being the harvest.
The old season was the training courses, and the new season is what you were training for.

OK, God, leaving the old and embracing the new!
Still sounds huge when saying that, huh?

I’ll finish with this … “Leaving the old season is never easy.
But staying in the old season is never safe.”

Several weeks ago, I was in a blinding storm. The rain came down so hard I could barely see to drive. The lightning was wicked and fierce. I drove in this for several miles at a slow rate of speed, and then I was out of it. The storm was behind me.

Storms of life are inevitable, but there is hope for the believer in the middle of storms. Remember, God doesn't always choose to quiet the storms.

Sometimes He wants to teach us in the storm…Acts 27:21-38.
a. Spend some time alone with God.
b. Acknowledge his presence.
c. Believe his promises.
d. Count your blessings.
e. Get rid of excess baggage.

After I drove through the natural storm, I heard the Lord say, 'If you stay the course, I will guide you out of life's storms just like I brought you through this natural storm.'

Stay the course!

Sharing one of my daily prayers.

I come to you, Jesus, in the quiet of this moment just to say I love you. Not with fancy words, not with anything polished, just from a real heart that’s grateful for who you are.

You’ve been good to me in ways I see and in ways I don’t. You’ve walked with me through days I didn’t understand, and you’ve stood by me when I didn’t deserve it. Thank you for being steady when I’m not. Thank you for being faithful when I fall short. Thank you for loving me with a love that doesn’t quit.

Jesus, I admire you.

You are gentle, but you are strong.
You are mighty, but you care about the small things in my life.

I thank you for the cross.
I thank you for mercy that meets me every morning.
I thank you for grace that keeps pulling me forward.
I thank you for the peace you give when my mind is tired and my heart is heavy.

I don’t have perfect words, Jesus, but I have a willing heart.
I want to walk with you.
I want to know you more.
I want my life to reflect your goodness.

Stay near me today.
Guide my thoughts.
Steady my steps.
Let your presence be the quiet strength I lean on.

You are my Savior, my Friend, and my Lord.
And I just want you to know I’m grateful for you.
I admire you.
I love you.
And I give you this moment, simple as it is, because you deserve it.
Amen.
