🎉 WELCOME TO THE ARC FAMILY, HAMSTRAS! 🎉
We are so excited to welcome Pastor Calvin Hamstra, his wife, Lorena, and their sons, Josiah and Jonah, to the American Reformed Church family! Pastor Calvin began his work as our Senior Pastor in September. It is such a joy to see how God has led the Hamstras back to the DeMotte community, a place that is already special to them. After nearly 20 years in accounting and business leadership, Calvin felt the Lord leading him into pastoral ministry. Most recently, the Hamstra family spent three years serving as missionaries in southern Brazil, where they helped develop a retreat and discipleship ministry, served pastors and missionaries, and participated in church planting and outreach. What a blessing to see how God has been preparing and guiding their family through each season!
Calvin is finishing up with his Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary, with an emphasis in Biblical Counseling, and has a heart for faithfully teaching God’s Word and caring for His people. Lorena has also served alongside Calvin in many areas of ministry, including youth ministry, Bible study, discipleship, hospitality, and outreach. She currently teaches high school Spanish at DeMotte Christian School. Together, Calvin and Lorena share a desire to help others grow in their faith and experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
We feel truly blessed to welcome the Hamstra family into our church family and look forward to the many ways we will grow, serve, worship, and share God’s love together. Please help us make Calvin, Lorena, Josiah, and Jonah feel right at home at ARC! We are thankful for God’s leading and excited for this new chapter He has in store for our church.
