A Message for Father’s Day

From the Conventual Franciscan Friars of St. Bonaventure Province

The friars of St. Bonaventure Province extend our warmest wishes for a blessed and happy Father's Day to all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and father figures. We give thanks for the men who lead their families with the patience of Christ and the joy of the Gospel.

Heavenly Father, we ask you to grant these men strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience. Sustain them in the work they do and give them the grace to love in a way that reflects your own boundless love.

We pray, too, for the fathers who have passed into eternal life that they have been welcomed into your loving embrace, and that one day our families will be reunited in your heavenly kingdom.
In union with St. Joseph, whom you entrusted with the care of your own Son, we ask your generous blessings upon all fathers today and every day.

Today we were blessed to be able to highlight our beautiful property as a team from Bending River Films was on site interviewing Fr. Paul Langevin, OFM Conv., Minister Provincial of the Conventual Franciscans, St. Bonaventure Province (Conventual Franciscans Midwest USA), and our retired Director of Operations, David Zielinski.
Bending River Films is working with Michigan cemeteries and funeral homes developing a documentary on the beautiful cemeteries in our state and St. Hedwig is excited to be one of the featured cemeteries. For those of you who are our neighbors, this Saturday we will once again have a drone above the cemetery taking pictures and videos of our beautiful grounds to show our stunning Spring colors from a unique vantage point. This is a follow-up to our Winter drone photo shoot that took place earlier in the year.
So, if you hear a faint humming sound coming from the nearby sky, it's just us.

Spring has indeed sprung! With near perfect planting weather upon us, we have received our first delivery of Spring color to make our already beautiful cemetery even more vibrant. Stop by to take in the stunning beauty of God's creations. Next week will be our second delivery, and the tasks will continue. A HUGE shout out to the amazing maintenance crew at St. Hedwig who somehow manage get all of this extra work done without skipping a beat on the regular day-to-day responsibilities that never end!
