Do you know that Moraine Heights Baptist Church started 75 years ago today?
On June 10, 1951, what began as a small mission work in the West Moraine community was officially organized into West Moraine Baptist Church with 31 charter members. Today, we celebrate 75 years of God's faithfulness, provision, and blessing upon this ministry.
Before there was a church building, there were prayer meetings in homes, services under tents, and faithful believers with a burden to reach their community for Christ.
75th Anniversary Trivia
• The church's earliest prayer meetings were held in the home of Ernest Huff on Holman Street.
• The first major outreach was a Vacation Bible School and Tent Revival in July 1948.
• 115 children attended that first Vacation Bible School.
• 6 souls trusted Christ during the revival.

• During the winter months, services were held in the Angels' home before a church building existed.
• The first church property at Holman and Cloverlawn Streets was purchased for just $600.
• Pastor Travis Hudson, who was saved through the ministry of West Side Baptist Church, would later become the pastor and faithfully serve for decades.

Seventy-five years later, we thank God for every pastor, missionary, teacher, deacon, musician, bus worker, prayer warrior, church member, and faithful servant who has helped carry the gospel ministry forward.
Above all, we celebrate the faithfulness of God.
