Chaplain Patterson’s message from May 31, 2026 – “Kingdom Awakening.”

Jesus preached the Kingdom. Not as a side theme. As the theme.
The epistles didn't change the subject. Paul tells the Colossians they've been transferred out of darkness into the Kingdom of His Son. Peter calls them a royal priesthood with a Kingdom purpose. The entire New Testament is built on one governing reality: the King has come, the Kingdom is here, and His people have an assignment.

Many have known the name of Jesus but not His Kingdom. Many have carried the life of God without understanding what that life was meant to produce.

Matthew 13 is the Kingdom Chapter; seven parables. All of them about how the Kingdom advances, takes root, and transforms everything it touches. This is not coincidence. This is curriculum.
The Kingdom within you was never meant to stay there. It was planted in you to be expressed through you — in your home, your community, your city and in your nation.

This awakening is producing people who know their King and know their assignment. Not content to simply attend but begin advancing. The church is not retreating. It is rising.
It is an honor to live in this time — surrounded by a fallen world, awakened to a Kingdom that cannot be stopped.

Sunday night Bible college teaching. 🔗 The Missing Link 🔗
Most believers skip straight from faith to knowledge — and wonder why the chain breaks down.
Peter was not casual about this. He laid out the inheritance on the table: God's divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. Partakers of the divine nature.
Then he said — with all diligence — add to your faith virtue. Not knowledge first. Virtue first.
The Greek word (arête) is not soft. It is the character of a warrior who does not break under pressure.
Moral fiber forged before the battle begins. When virtue is in place, knowledge finally has something solid to stand on — and the entire chain comes to life.
We live in a time when good teaching is everywhere. But knowledge without virtue produces believers who are educated but not anchored, informed but not transformed.
There are churches on every corner. Virtue on every corner? That is a different question. The answer has been in the text the whole time.

Coffee Hour after Pomeroy Service

Chaplain Patterson’s message from May 3 – Kingdom Mission

The Kingdom of God is not shrinking. It is advancing.
But for a season, much of the church forgot that. We traded the Kingdom mission for a privatized faith – real enough to affect us but domesticated enough to leave the world untouched.

And while we kept faith contained, Christian nations began committing su***de. The foundations cracked. Darkness moved into every space the church abandoned. A false theology let it happen. The assumption underneath everything was that history is just winding down and there is nothing meaningful left to build. Surrender got dressed up as theology.
Fatalism got dressed up as faith.

But something is shifting. The church is waking up.

Jesus launched His entire ministry with the Kingdom: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17).

He told Nicodemus you must be born again just to see it (John 3:3).

He told His followers to seek it above everything else (Matthew 6:33).

From the first word of His ministry to the last – it was always the Kingdom. That has not changed. Every generation that forgot it paid a devastating price. Every generation that grasped it shook the world.

"The kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17:21); And once it is within you, it cannot stay there. A Kingdom that only lives inside you and never moves through you has not been fully received. It was never meant to be contained. It was meant to advance. Through you and into every room, every relationship, every corner of the world you touch. You were not saved to survive. You were saved to advance.

Redeemer Communion Service – Chaplain Robbie Patterson -- 10 a.m.

Pomeroy Lutheran Communion – Noon Service – Pastor David Zimmerman

Chaplain Patterson’s message from April 26 – “Tactics Without Telos”

Telos (Greek, n.): The ultimate end. The over-arching goal.
The final purpose everything else exists to serve.
It appears 41 times in Scripture. God applies it to Himself -- "the beginning and the (Telos) end" (Revelation 21:6).
If God is the telos of all things, the church He purchased with His blood has a telos too. And that telos is not a better worship service. It is a transformed world.
Israel mastered the tactics and lost the mission. The Pharisees perfected it. Much of modern Christianity has repeated the mistake.
The result is always the same -- personally victorious individuals and communities getting darker every year. The early church had none of our resources. But they had the telos. And they turned the world upside down.
Jesus made it unmistakably clear: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations and then the (Telos) end shall come." Mat 24:14
That word "end" is telos. The mission is not a suggestion. It is the condition.
The church is not waiting for the telos to arrive. The telos is waiting on the church. The tactics build you up. The telos sends you out.
Christ is King -- Live Like It.

Chaplain Patterson’s message from April 19 – “Kingdom Knowledge-Reforging the Chain.”

We have generations of believers filled with biblical knowledge but producing little fruit. Because we skipped a link in Peter's chain.

In 2 Peter 1:5-7, the apostle Peter gives us a divine progression, beginning with faith. But the very next link is not knowledge. It is virtue. Moral courage and excellence. The strong foundation that makes knowledge productive.

Without it, knowledge floats untethered, unable to produce the self-control, godliness, and love that mark a genuine Kingdom Christian.

In this teaching, we walk through Peter's chain and expose the missing link that has left so many believers spiritually stagnant.

We look at the life of Augustine -- a man who refused to separate virtue from knowledge -- and how that combination helped him defeat three major heresies, transform an entire region for Christ, and establish a theological foundation the church has stood on for over a thousand years. But this is not just history. Something is shifting. Kingdom knowledge is returning to the church with power.

Believers are rising who have self-control, the peace of God guarding their hearts and minds, godliness that says yes to God and no to the devil regardless of the cost, and a brotherly kindness that stands with those standing for what is right. Out of all of this flows the love of God -- charity -- changing the world for Christ. We do not repent merely to have our sins forgiven. We do not repent merely to secure a place in heaven when we die. We repent because the Kingdom of God is at hand, available, advancing, and calling for citizens who are fully equipped to live in it.

Reforge the chain. Reclaim the link that was lost.

REDEEMER NEWS – April 19, 2026

Communion Redeemer Service – Chaplain Robbie Patterson –
10:00 a.m.

Communion Pomeroy Lutheran – Noon Service – Pastor David Zimmerman

Chaplain Patterson’s message from April 12 – “KINGDOM VIRTUE”

Most Christians know about Christ. Far fewer walk in the power of what that knowledge is supposed to produce. The reason is that many skipped the first step.
In 2 Peter 1:3, we are told that God has already given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Christ. It is already yours.
It has already been provided. But there is a key that unlocks it, and the church has largely stopped teaching it.
That key is virtue. Not niceness. Not religious politeness. Not quiet, inoffensive Christianity.
The Greek word Aretē — courageous moral excellence. The force of a warrior who does not break under pressure. The Christ-like character that activates everything else in Peter's chain. Peter laid it out with precision in 2 Peter 1:5-7 — a deliberate, sequential chain of Christ-like development.
Every link depends on the one before it. And it begins — not with knowledge, not with self-control, not with godliness — but with virtue.
And this answers one of the most troubling questions in the modern church:
How can someone have massive amounts of knowledge about Christ and have it be completely useless in their life? Here is the answer.
Knowledge was never designed to be the first step. It was designed to be built on virtue. When virtue is missing, knowledge has no foundation to stand on.
It accumulates without activating. It fills the mind while the life stays unchanged.
It produces Bible experts who are strangers to the power they can recite chapter and verse about. It produces men who are experts at talking about the Kingdom of God, but no ability to advance it in the earth. Without virtue underneath it,
knowledge does exactly what Paul warned — it puffs up. It generates pride, not power, information, not transformation. But when virtue is restored to its rightful place — everything begins to fall into place. Without virtue, self-control slips away. Endurance collapses. Godliness becomes a performance.
And love becomes mere sentiment — warm feelings with no power to change anything.
In this teaching we cover:

Why the army of God is smaller than it should be.
What aretē actually means — and why it changes everything.
How Peter's chain was designed to build a soldier, not a spectator.
Why God didn't need victory over Satan — but you did — and how Christ made that victory available to you.
How virtue is the activating force that allows you to walk in the full knowledge of Christ.
Why the church that loses virtue loses everything that follows.
The knowledge of Christ is not just information.
It is power, life, and godliness — waiting to be activated by believers who are willing to add to their faith the one thing that makes everything else work. It's time to re-forge the chain.
