Greetings, church! Sunday is a day of celebrating being church. We will pray some and sing some. We will talk about the beginning of Jesus’ ministry with the calling of two disciples. Jesus remind us that, “In the Land of Zebulun, land of Naphtali, on the road by the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and for those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned. At that time Jesus began to proclaim, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Repent means to turn around. We are called to turn around and to be the light in the world! As we approach the Season of Lent, we see that Jesus’s ministry is with all of us!
We will recognize my leaving for retirement and the Congregation will do the work of the church in our Annual Meeting. The word “liturgy “ means work of the people. When we gather our beloved community to worship, to say goodbye to a pastor, to talk together about reports and budgets, we are being the church and doing our work. After our work we will share pie together in the Fireside Room!
Join us at 11am in the Sanctuary to do the work of the people in song and word and community! All are welcome! God is with us!
