Christ Memorial Episcopal Church was founded in 1828 by Danville resident, Peter Baldy, and has been a solid, stable place of worship ever since. Over the years, the church has had it “ups and downs,” most notably a great fire in 1948 which destroyed the central bell tower and left only the exterior walls. The church was reconstructed, but the tower was never rebuilt. Recently, Christ Church has e

ntered a new era of visibility and vitality, perhaps unlike any seen since its inception. Due to the generous donations of parishioners and the blessings of monetary gifts and bequests, we have been able to re-build the tower and restore almost every time worn aspect of the church. Christ Memorial Episcopal Church no longer lies dormant, but now has come alive generating excitement and interest throughout the entire community. The monetary blessings that we have received allow Christ Church to maintain a healthy financial foundation and a solid physical structure to match our on-going spiritual enthusiasm.

What a lovely day for Christ Memorial Episcopal Church! Bradley and Gabriel were confirmed, and Greg was received, as we joined our friends at St. Mark’s, Northumberland for Bishop Audrey’s visitation. So grateful for their warm welcome as we celebrated together.

The day wasn’t done yet — we headed to the Shikellamy State Park overlook for a wonderful picnic, complete with a spirited game of Kubb. A perfect way to close out a day full of grace and gratitude.

CMEC Maker's Circle: TONIGHT!

Got a craft, hobby, or creative project sitting half-finished? Tonight's the night to pick it back up!

Join us today, Thursday, August 20th, from 6–8 PM for the CMEC Maker's Circle. Bring your current project, settle in, and enjoy the company of others who love making things. We'll provide the tables, you bring your supplies and, if you'd like, a snack to share.

Please enter through the smaller door on Market Street.

Come as you are. Bring what you're making. Let's create together.

Today is the first day of school for Danville students. This past Sunday Rev. Lisa blessed the backpacks and our students. Here was her blessing:

Heavenly Father, we bless this new school year and those who begin it. Watch over our students as they carry these backpacks, filled with tools to learn about your creation. Let them know your love in classrooms and hallways, and when stress or anxiety weighs on them, remind them they are beloved children of God.

In all things, let those who carry these backpacks be beacons of your eternal love, called to share it with classmates, teachers, and friends. We bless them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Go in peace, and remember to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.

Join us on Sunday. Rev. Lisa Work will share why this 1,500-year-old mosaic in Israel tells a story about abundance, generosity, and how Christ continues to feed us. This Sunday's sermon reveals why.

We hope you will join us!

Our Free Little Pantry has been running low lately.

Can you help us keep it stocked?

Christ Memorial Episcopal Church's Free Little Pantry (at 156 E. Market Street) is a small way we live out our mission to Love God and Love Neighbor. Right now, we would like to invite you to help us RESTOCK the pantry. If you have items to share, here are some things that are especially needed:

Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, spam, ham)
Beans (canned and dry)
Rice & pasta (dry and microwaveable packets)
Shelf-stable meals (Hormel, etc.)
Canned fruits & vegetables
Canned soup
Snacks for kids (granola bars, fruit roll-ups, crackers, cookies)
Instant potatoes, oatmeal & grits
Pancake mix & syrup
Cereal
Shelf-stable & powdered milk
Baby formula
Peanut butter & jelly
Coffee & tea

Whether you drop by with donations or share this post, thank you for helping neighbors make it through!

Our mission is simple:
Loving God, Loving Neighbor.
Tomorrow, Christ Memorial Episcopal Church is doing exactly that—packing 500 lunches for young people in Danville.

Come help us live it out. Sunday after church.

✨ Introducing the CMEC Maker's Circle! ✨
Do you have a creative project that's been waiting for "someday"?

Join us on the third Thursday of every month, beginning July 17, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the Community Room for a relaxed evening of creativity and fellowship.

Bring whatever you're working on — knitting, crochet, quilting, sketching, painting, writing, embroidery, drawing, journaling, model building... whatever brings you joy. Feel free to bring a snack to share as we create together.

This isn't a class. There's no instructor, no agenda, and no pressure to finish anything.
Just a welcoming space to create together.

Whether you're a lifelong artist, an occasional crafter, or simply looking for a reason to dust off that project you've been meaning to start — you'll find a place here.

Everyone is welcome. Invite a friend, bring your creativity, and join us — we'd love to create alongside you!
