What does it really mean to belong? It means being surrounded by people who love you enough to help you become more like Jesus.

In the final week of Made To Belong, we talked about being sharpened by the people God has placed in our lives. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that “iron sharpens iron,” and Galatians 6:1–2 shows us what that looks like—restoring one another gently, watching ourselves, and carrying each other’s burdens.

Biblical accountability isn’t about shame, control, or tearing someone down. It’s about truth, grace, and loving each other well enough to help one another grow closer to Jesus.

You were made to belong—to God, and to a people.

Sin keeps its power in the dark. It starts to die when you name it in a room with people who love you.

This week in Made to Belong, preaching minister Kale Courtright reminded us that belonging means more than simply showing up—it means being known.

James 5:16 tells us to confess our sins to each other and pray for each other so that we may be healed. God forgives us, but there is a kind of healing that happens when we stop hiding and allow trusted people into our lives.

We don’t need to tell everyone everything. We need a smaller room—a few people we trust, people who will listen, pray, and stay.

Confession heals what hiding protects.

You were made to belong — to God, and to a people.
