In week two of our Teach Us to Pray series, Kale explores what it means to pray, “Hallowed be your name.” In Job 38, God reminds Job of His power and holiness, showing him that God is far greater than we can fully understand. Job didn’t get all the answers he was looking for, but he encountered the living God.

So why pray? Because we have access to that God. Through Jesus, we are invited to draw near to the holy God who calls us His children. When we remember who He is, it changes how we pray and how we live.

This week’s challenge: When you pray the Lord’s Prayer, name one place where you want God to be known as He really is. Your home, your street, your workplace, your school, or one of our mission points. Pray, “God, be known as you really are, here.”

We all learned to pray from someone. In this week’s message, Kale reminds us that Jesus didn’t just teach His disciples about prayer. He gave them a prayer to pray.

The Lord’s Prayer teaches us how to talk with our Father and reminds us that prayer is about relationship, not performance. As we pray these words, our hearts are shaped and transformed to reflect His desires and align with His will.

This week’s challenge: Find a place to pray, pause for 30 seconds, and remember who you’re talking to. Make it a daily practice, morning, midday, and evening.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.”

It was another great Sunday at CrossPoint!

We continued our Month of Missions, focusing our hearts and our giving on ministries, missions, and missionaries around the world. To show our appreciation, we set up a video station where everyone could share a short word of encouragement for our missionaries!

During service, we introduced our new Youth Minister, Austin Gauntt, and his wife, Kendall. The staff, elders, teens, teen parents, and youth volunteers were invited on stage to pray over them as they begin this new chapter at CrossPoint.

Kale also began a new series, Teach Us to Pray, and introduced our Bookmark Challenge! Volunteers handed out bookmarks featuring the Lord’s Prayer, and we prayed together as a congregation. We were challenged to pray three times a day: morning, midday, and evening.

We’re thankful for another Sunday of worship, prayer, and growing together! ❤️
