Mark your calendars for our upcoming worship series, folks! For the month of Pride, Northaven wants to highlight all the ways in which God tells us we are ALL loved and made just as we were meant to be! 🌈

Each week during this series, we're proud to have members of our congregation share stories on why pride matters to them and how their experiences have shaped the ability for many to be open and out today both in and out of the Church.

This series will kick off with a sermon on June 7 from special guest, Brittany Melrose of the UTD (Synergy Wesley) Foundation, and Dr. Kendra Weddle, Stephen Toal, and Rev. Mike House will round out this series celebrating God's love and acceptance!

We encourage you to invite anyone who needs to hear this message and be reminded that they are beloved just the way they are! Join us June 7 - 28 at 11:00 a.m. in person or online at Northaven.org.

We have an exciting announcement to make, Northaven friends and family! Rev. Monica Frazier will be taking the helm as Northaven's head pastor following Rev. Ann Willet's retirement, and we could not be more excited to welcome her leadership.

Monica comes to us with over 25 years of experience in ministry, and she is eager to join Northaven's mission in building a more just world, healing past wounds created within the Church, and cultivating a nonjudgemental home in which all are welcome to grow in community and faith. With a diverse background in ministry ranging from working on staff at the North Texas conference, to directing retreats and an AmeriCorps justice program, to most recently serving as Pastor of Adult Ministries and Care at First UMC Dallas, Monica has developed a leadership ethos that prioritizes deep listening and care, organization, collaboration, and transformation. We are truly lucky to have her!

More than anything, she understands her calling is creating spaces where people can encounter God in real and transformative ways, and then supporting them to live out their faith with courage, passion, and purpose in the world.

Monica will start in-office on July 6, and her first Sunday with us will be July 12. We invite you to welcome Rev. Monica Frazier to Northaven with us in person or online at Northaven.org!

Join Kim Batchelor and Dr. John Holbert this week on "Hold On: Is That Really Christian?" as they discuss "Secretary of War" Pete Hegseth, who is known for incorporating Scripture into his pronouncements. But is it really Christian?

In the first of a two-part series, they discuss the religious nationalist movement that informs his beliefs and whether the Biblical verses he cites mean what he thinks they mean.
